I am soooo sorry for all you are going through right now! I wish I had the answer.. You say there are a couple of friends down there for you, any of which you could ask to put you up for a night or two?
Or... and this sounds harsh, call your OH's bluff and dont leave the house? I fail to believe that she would actually take herself and kids off to hostel, and may be syaing this just to get you out?
How much do her parents know? Could you get them round tonight to talk with you both?
I can see you are in a desperate situation, I do not have the answers, but I am here and listening and hope that knowledge helps a little....
