A few years ago, the staff team put togther a book proposal for a book on PNI. We had some interest from publishers at the time, but last week, Veritee was contacted by a publisher who publishes for charitable organsiations. They have shown great interest in our proposal - so fingers crossed.
We will keep you updated x

This is amazing news. If you need any personal stories I'd be more than happy to share mine, especially as I'd like to give women who've had PP hope that they can have subsequent children without becoming ill again.

Yes - if anyone feels like sharing a personal story with us then that would be great! We obviosuly cannot guarantee that every story we use will be published (thats down to the big bad publishers - otherwise the book would probably be 1000 pages long) but it would be great to have them and those that are not published could go on our main site under the personal stories section for those who gave us permission to do so??

Andrea, I wish I'd had your kind of treatment. Mine was awful - crisis team didn't recognise symptoms at home, a rush to A&E as we had nowhere else to turn and then admitted to a psych ward for 3 weeks without baby where I believed at times I must have killed my baby because in all the photos I thought he looked dead. All PP is horrific though, however treated, but what gets me the most is that midwives and HVs are not educated about it so women are left fearful in the dark about what is happening to them with no idea of where to get help.

Yes, let's hope the book does make a big difference and helps educate women and the health proffessionals involved in perinatal care, so that they understand the seriousness of postnatal illness in all it's forms.

Thanks WG! I love your idea to put unpublished stories on the website; in that case I'll get cracking on writing mine after Christmas, because either way it seems it could be of some help to someone.
