Will do, I am seeing my cpn on Wednesday so will discuss it with her. Last night they just put me to sleep. Can't deny that your post worried me but I just have to remember what they keep telling me, that my illness is psychological and not psychosis.
It's great to have your support though, it's good having someone around with experience of the same drugs.

Sorry Kat, really didn't mean to worry you. Your doctors know you, they meet with you and speak face to face so you are right to trust them and their professional diagnosis. I didn't mean to imply anything by sharing that part of how I was during my psychosis, I just shared it to say I could identify with you. Perhaps it's a side effect of the meds and we've both experienced it, I don't know. I'm not an expert and my experience is only based on my one episode of PP . I just can empathise with you and I'm glad to help encourage you by sharing how the drug helped me, despite the side effects.
Very glad you're talking to your cpn soon and I hope they can help adjust the medication if needed or reassure you those side effects will die down. I think with some of them like the sleepiness you do get used to. Glad it put you to sleep last night, a very invaluable bonus of the drug in my opinion. Perhaps it'll do that from now on. Thinking about it that "drunk" feeling could be because the drug is sedating you. Don't know about you but if I am ultra tired or sleepy I can feel drunk, I can't walk straight, am clumsy, I talk ten to the dozen and have even been known to giggle loads or just burst into tears, all because I'm exhausted. I've only just thought of that because it's a bit like how I'm feeling on pregabalin for my fibromyalgia while I get used to it.
Look forward to hearing your cpn's advice.

Just reading back on my previous post it sounds like I'm contradicting myself but I now have a new experience of an unrelated drug making me feel like I've had a glass of wine on an empty stomach. When you first described your experience of the side effects I immediately thought it wasn't normal but now I feel less concerned, apart from you shouldn't have to feel like that after every dose so it's great that you just went to sleep one night.
I think I'm saying too much so will quit now and am eager to hear a professional opinion about the side effects.

Hi Kat, hope you had a sleepy night after taking them last night?

I did thank you, no worry about the scared thing, everything scares me, sometimes even the names on peoples houses lolx. I slept well last night although o had me up three times, t once and s twice, love them all though. Off to see my psychologist today, thought I would stop at the supermarket and get a fish and give it to her to hit me round the face with, more pleasant than dealing with my gremilins.

Thanks Kat, glad the meds are helping you sleep even though kids had you up. That sounds like a terrible night to me. Do yours wake each other up? My two do. Sorry so much scares you right now, I'll bear that in mind when considering what to share with you. Do you do CBT to help with those kind of fears?
Has the drunk side effect passed yet? What did you think of my "it's the sedation that makes you feel drunk" theory?
I had to smile at your fish remark because I know what you mean about the work with therapists. Hope it goes well and not too painful today.

Hi bwp,
The kids all run to their own patterns, s appears around 4 every morning having nightmares and my oh swaps beds. O wakes for milk around 11, 3 and 6. T gets scared and needs comforting sometimes not at all and sometimes five times a night, my oh does a lot of t's wake ups.
Was not drunk or sleepy last night, see how I am today. Took the drugs a few hours ago.
Psychology was hard today.

Hi bwp not sure if you come through anymore, but if you do and want a laugh, quertiapine has cured me of my fear of heights and beetles lolxx

Yes, I'm around when I can. That's certainly a unique side effect! A bonus for you.
So you've persevered with the medication then? Do you feel it's helping and are the unpleasant side effects less intrusive?

Yeah is been a transformational drug for me, my cpn told the occ health consultant they didn't know if I could recover but now they think I will, and it's all thanks to quertiapine. It does knock me out at night but I love the sleep it's such a relief, it does give me the munchies late at night but just need to learn more control and normal everyday life is so much easier. Being rid of old fears such as beetle phobia amazing.
No one has been worried about the pissed feeling, and I have found that a glass of wine after I have taken them, wakes me up and clears my head, a total change to pre quertiapine days. How are you doing? I heard your fm has been bothering you a lot.
