Hi,
I'm new to the site, but found lots of posts really helpful already. I have a LO one who has just turned 3 and really would love another one. I have been on mirtazapine since my LO was 6 months old. I have really reduced my dose, and last month over a long period of time got down to half a tab every other night (7.5mg).
With consultation with my doctor, after a month of doing the above, would prob be ok to stop meds completely. However, after a few days of not taking the meds, started to feel quite anxious and was finding it hard to sleep and could feel myself getting worked up again. So with advice, went back to taking half lowest dose every night and am feeling ok again.
Just wondered if anyone has been on mirtazapine whilst pregnant and did everything turn out ok??
I thought I had been doing really well and was confident that I could come off them ok, and have been set back as this has not been the case. And now starting to feel anxious that I will never have another baby and aware age gap is getting bigger.
Any info would be grateful. My doc advised me of this website.
Hope to hear from you soon.
Thanks, Claire

Hi and welcome
I don't know about the drug you name. I took Prozac through my pregnancy and my baby was fine.
Don't worry to much about having a baby, the gap doesn't matter.

I too don't know ,uch about your drug, but I was on citalopram. I had a few wobbles coming off them, when I stayed on lower dose longer than in my drs plan as I wobbled. Just taket easy and slow. A cpn recommended vit b and evening primrose supplements when coming off Meds to give that extra boost. Check with dr or pharmacist to make sure it's ok fr you

Hey and welcome The only real way to know for sure is to speak to your gp i guess...some of the ladies have been on medication throughout pregnancy on here and been fine but always best to check out with a professional to clarify...good luck

Hi, I've been taking Mirtazipen and after speaking to my gp, she said there is no way of testing the drug on pregnant women, but the reports show that it can affect the grow of your baby in early pregnancy and also the baby when born can develop some pretty serious withdrawrals. I am 5 weeks pregnant and I am stopping my mitazipen today - cold turkey... I know that in the past.. on the days I have missed taking my tablet I have had a high anxiety day the next day. My doctor has prescribed me some safe sleeping tablets to use until the mirtazipen is out my system
