Congrats on ur baby!
I'm sorry you're going through pni again but really pleased youve tackled things head on and seen ur gp . Hopefully the meds increase will give you that lift.
You will get through this as horrible as it is atm . You've been this illness twice before and you will do so again. Please free to keep talking. Try and take a bit of time for yourself ( if that's possible !). What helped you get through pni before? How are you feeling now? X

hi monica
thanks for your reply ,
update
I have had a few good days and a couple bad days. Remember it takes a while for the meds to kick in .
had a really bad attack on Friday full on racing pulse, tingles, sweaty, breathless hot flushes i took one of my propanolol that really worked for me and since i have analysed the attack it was triggered by my usual trigger always health related and have broke it down in my head and rationalised. not had an attack since but the fear of having one is not nice either.
Last time this site really helped i made some good friends at the time but have sadly lost touch. I had a panic buddy someone who was also struggling with pni who i could contact when i needed distraction and visa versa. Rescue remedy was a big help also.
speak soon baby mooching for a food AGAIN! haha

Hi Jemma
Hopefully your meds will kick in soon and the anxiety/panic attacks will lessen considerably. It's really positive you are able to identify the source of Friday's panic attack. I too am prone to health anxiety so really know what you're going through.
Have you ever tried cognitive behavioural therapy? It can be really effective at combatting negative and obsessive thought patterns. Woukd you consider this?
I too suffered from extreme health anxiety when in the midst of pni although in my case I have had it mildly for years. I attended a course on pni where I was taught s few cbt techniques and it really helped. I can tell you what these are if ur interested .
Hang on in there - it will pick up x

Hi Monica
Yes plz if u don't mind I'm willing to try anything atm .
Classic example today been in my mind since I woke up
I had my 6 week post natal check on Friday all was well I mentioned to Dr that I had not bled since 4 weeks post c section but did feel cramps like I was due on a period. She explained that I prob was due a period about now .
Sunday my period came
But today Im worried in case it's not a period and something has gone drastically wrong inside and I'm going to die .
Bloody PNI it's an awful illness .

Hi
Hugs. What has brought this on? Your period starting? Why do you think it might not be a period? How r u today? Going to drs is good for reassurance.
One of the cbt techniques I learnt you could apply to this. Write down reasons why bleeding might not be period - so I'm guessing you might think it's a haemorrhage or something similar .( and any other reasons!
Then write down reasons it is - you've had cramps, you're due on, it looks and feels like one .
Inevitably you will see that the list of reasons it is a period will be far longer. I found this good in helping me rationalise my fears and prevent them from spiralling. seeing it in black and white can help put it into perspective x

Thanks for the technique .
Have tried it with the dizziness I'm feeling atm and it does point to anxiety symptom
But in the back of my mind I think what if I dismiss it as anxiety and I miss something massive like a brain tumour etc . X

Hi
I completely understand you as I was like this too - I would have some relief from anxiety then it would go. It's always good to get physical symptoms checked out - perhaps go to your Dr for reassurance ?
My dr said to me that although I had all these symptoms they didn't point to anything serious . I imagine it would be the same for you. It's hard to imagine that pni can make you feel so ill but it can.
Re dizziness would u be able to do any exercise - a swim or brisk walk. I found this helped hugely x
