Hi all, massive hugs to all of you struggling with PNI. I just wanted to pop on and post, as today is a massive day for me and has been over 5 and a half years in the making. Today, I can say that I am medication free and well on the road to recovery. I think that due to everything I have been through, I may well be stuck with my anxiety disorder. But ... I control it, it does not control me. I took my last half tablet of Citalopram a few days ago. I managed to get down to 10mg every three days and today, made the break. NO MORE PILLS FOR ME. I feel liberated. I hope to suffer no or minimal side effects from the withdrawal. I have been reducing the dose very slowly and it has taken some months to get to this day, but I made it. I have had some bleak dark days where this forum was the only thing that was keeping me alive and keeping me fighting, hour by hour. It feels like you cant cope anymore at times, I know. But believe me, you can and you will. Stay strong all of you and feel proud that you reached out and sought support whether it be on here, or from your gp or family and friends. It doesnt matter where, what matters is that you care about yourself and your family enough to ask for some support. Love to you all. xxxxxxxxxxxxx
