Hi all,
I am new to this site....., I'm a 35 year old mum of two, my daughter who is 8 years old now, I was diagnosed with pre-natal depression and severe post natal depression, boy does it bring back memories reading your message's.
I think looking back probably it took me three years to really get over it, after a traumatic birth, emergency section....the baby blues just never went away....the feeling of utter desperation....you are in your own bubble, nobody understands!!!, life seems to be going by without you...
I scored high on the Edinburgh (memory abit slow), fortunately I had a fab health vistor...finding the right anti-depressants (eventually), counseling, also major thing giving myself a break!!!, I have come through it!!!. I have also another child who is now five and paranoid about getting it again, but I didn't.
Honestly at the time you feel you will never get out of the nightmare, but there really is light at the end of the tunnel......I promise
thoughts with you all take care tj

Hi tj
It is so nice of you to come on here to let others know that there is light at the end of the tunnel.
It is great to here from someone who has recovered and also gone on to have another child and stayed free of pnd.
Please keep encouring us, and offering your welcome advice.
I am sure your experience in this as a recovered pnd suffer will benifit so many of us women.
Thank you Melx

Thank you tj
your words really will help as everyone on here needs to hear that you really will get better.
I say this all the time but I am only one person - so thank you for that.
If you want to come on here and share your experiences further or offer anyone some support if you relate to what they say - you are very welcome to respond to posts on here .
but otherwise thank you for saying again what women with PNi need to hear that you will get better
All the best
Veritee
