Hiya,
I 'm new to this forum. I have a 17 month son, and am suffering from PNI. I feel that I am starting to come through the tunnel, but still have a long way to go.
Looking forward to chatting with you all.

Yeah, I know what you mean. I think it's difficult for people to understand it, as everyone expects that "this is the happiest time of your life" and make you feel bad for suffering! I'm looking forward to making some good friends here, and hopefully I can help to support people through their own struggles.

Hi Kirstin
And a big welcome to the forum
Sorry about the site registration difficulties.
Do you want to tell us a bit about yourself, the age of your child/ren, how long you have had PNI, what your 'worst ' symptom is?
( they are all bad but every one has one that is harder to bear than the others)
I hope we can support you here and I look forward to talking to you
All the best
Veritee

I'm from Glasgow, Scotland. I'm 25 and live with my fiance and out son. This is my first child. My little boy is now 17 months. I was diagnosed very early on after he was born, and it has taken me a long while to get to this stage. I think my worst symptoms are irritability, and somedays I just don't want to get out of bed at all. I also find that my imagination runs away with me and I think of all these terrible things that might happen when i'm out with my son. They're pretty irrational thoughts too.... My partner is finding the fact that I have totally lost my sex drive VERY difficult. We would love to have more children, but I am terriefied of going full circle and suffering from PNI again. I am currently on sick leave from work, but I don't feel that they are very understanding, and get the impression that they are all "gossiping" while i'm not there.

Hi kirstin
Welcome to this place - it really is SUCH a help. I'm sure you'll agree in no time :-)
Feel free to 'speak' openly, whatever you feel you need to say. We're all here to help & support you.
Just picking up on what you said in your post: "We would love to have more children, but I am terrified of going full circle and suffering from PNI again.." I can really identify with this one - I guess it's an improvemtn and shows recovery is well under way though as the thought of more children when in the thick of PNI is just out of the question. I'm currently too doing the whole - I think I might want to have more children but no way want to ever re-visit the depths I've been to. Then again I don't want ot let PNI have any further hold on my life either!
You'll make the right chioce, just give yourself time to fully recover. It does seem that ones who've not fully recovered seem to have a hard time - although I'm sure there are no rules (as with much pf PNI!!)
Anyways, enough of my waffling - you take care & I look forward to getting to know you on here.

Hi Kirsten,
How are you getting on? The 'what if' thoughts are really hard to cope with when out and about aren't they? I then found myself staying in a lot to avoid those situations and then I felt worse!! But don't worry, it does all come to an end..
Try not to worry about work - not that I can follow my advice mind (pot and kettle!) I've been off for a long time too, but have started going in for visits -not as bad as I expected - in fact people have been quite warm and understanding..
Anyway, let us know how you're doing if you get the chance. Love Hopefulx
