I had a pretty traumatic birth and won't go into too much detail, but the bottom line is that my baby's head was engaged for too long and this resulted in a dislocated coccyx which resulted in the nerves being damaged. Turns our those nerves control your bladder, bowel and general vagina area. When I went for my six-week check I felt nothing as the doctor did the internal examination. I have pain from where I tore but there is no other sensation. I was just wondering if anyone else has experienced this? Obviously this hasn't helped our sex life and we all know how difficult it is without the added complication. At least my husband has been extremely understanding. I am doing physio 3 times a week and all kinds of exercises that they have prescribed as well as using a hormone cream that will apparently thicken the cervix again which "might" stimulate the nerves to grow. The doctor says most nerve endings do grow back, just very slowly and occasionally they only grow back partially and of course there is the chance that they are permanently damaged and will not grow back at all. A very gloomy prospect I must admit.
Any feedback or advice would be great!

Hiya Shell,
Since the birth of my daughter - now three. I had a prolapse and had gynacology physio too. I must say - I think ihave some feelings - but as I am on antid's and have been a long time I don't have the inclinations the same and things are moved around down there, so some things are not confortable. Doesn't sound as bad as you. but i can have an operation - but it will mean I wont be able to lift any thing heavy and having a toddler thats a bit difficult!!
Its aweful isn't it. I don't know what to suggest - but I think its good to admit things and maybe more people will talk about.
As your daughter is still young maybe in time it will be much clearer. 5 months isn't long and they say it takes at least a year to get back to normal.
Good luck and take it easy.

Hi Mine nothing like this but i have nerve damage in my bladder and bowels area, and loss of feeling due to nerve damage in my spine though and i have had a operation since in january and the consultant has advised it can take years for the damaged nerves to come back and the physio works apparently the more you work at it the more you will get back from it. It has improved after a year now but it is slow but mine will never come back fully as this has been explained to me as mine was soo bad not just trama unfortunelty. Plus the fact that some of my discs in my spine have been removed now so there is nothing there to heal if you know what i mean. But hopefully yours should come back to you, apparently aswell my cousin had nerve damage to a stroke and they suggested stroking it with a brush everyday for a while and over time it encouraged her nerves to grow back slowley again but it did work it stimulated them, so mabe try that, hey lots of fun for you guys haha.....
