A while back I couldn't get my breathing out of my head. It was my mind giving me more and more horrible things to deal with. Plus all the obsessive thoughts I have about being a bad partner and betraying my OH. The breathing thing has sort of changed to my heartbeat now, i.e. you're going to focus on it whether you like it or not and it will disrupt your day and ruin it.
I'm on 10mg Olanzapine which is an antipsychotic supposed to help with obsessive thoughts, but it's not working. 10mg is a high dose apparently, and only goes up to 20mg and that's for really really ill people with schizophrenia. So I am a bit despairing about what to do. I'm seeing a psychologist on Thursday for an assessment and starting CBT after that, but in the meantime I feel so crap and like I will never feel okay again.
Sorry this is a bit long, perhaps I should have put this in the diary section?? Anyway, has anyone had obsessive thoughts about their heartbeat or breathing and doesn't have them any more? It's not an obsessive worry about my health, just my mind saying "you're going to focus on your breathing/heartbeat because it will be horrible for you".
Clarabelle x Hope everyone's okay xx

Hi Clarabelle,
Yes I have had obsessive thoughts about heartbeat and breathing.......and yes, this is much better now. Probably also helped by the fact that (apart from before my period) the physical symptoms are so, so much better.
How did it go on Thursday (sorry if you have written about this somewhere else and I've missed it).
Love Hopefulxx

Hi Gemma, Welcome to the site - I hope you find it helpful. I think fears about health and dying seem to be quite common with PNI - but this doesn't make it any less awful or frightening. I'm sure there'll be other ladies along who have been through the same. I thought I'd also show you this link - it's just about MSN and our thoughts about use of MSN especially if you are new here - hope you don't mind me pasting the link veritee.proboards7.com/index.cgi?board=guidelines&action=display&n=1&thread=5017Please keep talking, we're here to listen Love and hugs Hopefulx
