Hi everyone
I have (am) slowly recovered (ing) from PNI. I am mostly well, except around my period where I can be quite ill again - however, this is slowly improving as the months go on. My PMS is almost back to how I remember it, apart from the odd 'thought' which I am able to control nowadays.
Although I am generally well, I get stressed out very easily, my stress levels are constanly ebbing and flowing and this can be really quite exhausting.
I was wondering if anyone had any opinions or experiences concerning stress. Is this a symptom of PNI too, and will it go away eventually? It is nothing to do with my teaching job as it's summer holiday time, a time that's supposed to be relaxing!!

Hi Gail, God how I know what you mean. I often refer to my stress levels going through the roof. Before PNI I was so layed back it was untrue. Now it seems like I am like a permanently coiled spring It definately does seem to be a long lasting side effect of PNI for me anyway. Although I am far better now at realising when the stress is building and have found the strength now to try and walk away from a situation if that is possible. If not possible I will beat the hell out of my bean bag stress doll later in the day. Sending you love and hugs Chica

Know exactly what you mean Gail, my stress levels have increased as well, in fact I could do with one of those beanbags myself . I'm sure it's one of the residue effects of pni.

Well, I am glad I'm not the only one, but it seems unfortunate that PNI never COMPLETELY goes of its own accord I find myself getting stressed by just doing the housework, and my partner seems to get stressed out too as I suppose I am quite stressful to be around. am so highly strung, I wonder if there are anycoping techniques people have used? I do yoga occasionally and do try to meditate too (although most of the time I'm so knackered I just fall asleep!) Thank you for your replies. I really hope the stress levels will deplete with time - it's so damaging to your body. x

I too noticed that I get quite stressed easily and can be a bit highly strung. I think it's one of those things that you will recover from but then again being a parent is stressful so possibly even without PNI maybe many of us would be more stressed? Just a thought.
I find that doing exercise expecially something that gets the heart rate going is fab - it sort of keeps me happier and I've never noticed this more than during recovery from PNI - I swear it brought me out from blips and stopped me plummeting.
