Small rant here Does anyone else get hacked off with their childless friends giving them advice about raising their kids? At 26 I'm the 1st of my circle of mates to spawn and by golly it shows sometimes!! 1 tried to tell me that I should BF, despite the fact that my daughter couldn't latch on and she would have starved..didn't listen just gave me a lecture about the health benefits..yes I know there are many but it just wasn't possible. (Old rant this, as she's now on moo cow milk and it's irrelevant) The other night when out with friends we got talking about my DD who was being watched by my mum at my house. 1st question - why isn't she staying over at mums? Because it will disrupt her and my partner was picking me up on way home from his social thing so there was no need. 2nd question - why will it disrupt her, my neice sleeps anywhere? Well good for her, my DD doesn't, she likes her cotbed at home, not a travel cot in mum's spare room. 3rd question - at 9pm when I got a text from mum that DD had gone to sleep finally after totally pushing it with granny! Why isn't she just put to bed and left to scream, my neice is? Because she is with her granny and is totally pushing it because mummy's not there, plus usually she goes down fine, she just sees the opportunity to stay up a bit later! Just wait til they spawn..I'm going to give them 'helpful' advice!! ;D xx

lol Caterina, You do what you are comfortable with and sod the remarks, so and sos kids are always better behaved, eat better, sleep better, are better at school, potty trained earlier, ..... and it ain't true. I would laugh off remarks from those without kids, BECAUSE THEY HAVEN'T GOT A BLOODY CLUE.... pardon my French lol. As for the screaming I never leave my baby to scream, not that I wouldn't like to sometimes, but I live in an apartment block and there'd be complaints. ; Hope you are having a good day.. I find it's good to let off steam now and again Here's to daytime telly

LOL thanks ladies ;D Found the whole thing pretty funny as they don't have a scooby what the whole lark is about (looked shocked when I had mentioned being up in the night the night before 'but she's older now!' lol, like that matters!!. One is preg at the moment (due in Oct) and they're talking about a girls holiday in March. She fully intends to go and take her bub with her. They asked me if I wanted to come with DD too and I laughed my arse off!! No way am I putting myself through that..good for her if she does go but no chance of me ever daring to do that! Never mind, can't all be perfect eh?!? xx

Currently rolling on the floor hysterically laughing. Girly holiday with the baby. I couldn't imagine anything less fun and less relaxing
Not a scooby like you said. That girl is in for a shock

As long as there are 24 hour babysitters so we can actually enjoy ourselves. Perhaps OHs could be persuaded to volunteer!?! I would actually like to go just to see how a girly holiday goes with a 5 month old ;D lol, oh I'm a terrible friend! xx

Hi
Before having kids, I had opinions about what to do and not to do (about myself and any potential kids more than about others), but you do realise that the reality is quite different.I can remember being in town with my mate and her baby. I was frantically wanting to do sales shopping and my firend was starting to panic about feeding her baby. I woudl be...just one more shop. It's only now having had my own that I know when a baby wants to be fed, it wants it now!
...can I joinn you onteh girly holiday - sounds blissful!!!
