Has anyone ever tryed craniosacral massage to help with their PNI? I took my daughter as a newborn, to try and settle her as she was so fractious. I also had a session myself, this was before I realised I was depressed. It seemed to help us bith a bit. I had another session today as I have been feeling low the last few weeks. I am off the AD's and will try anything to stay off them. Anyway, I feel so much more relaxed now. Even if the efeect has gone tomorrow it will have been worth it to have a stress free day. I felt really whacked after the session, but in a nice way. I am going to try and go regularly. it costs a little bit but i think it's worth it if it keeps the horrible feelings at bay. Just wondered if anyone else had tryed it? scrumpy.

Hi Francoise, I certaiainly would recommend you give it a go. I opted for a massage as well as some craniopathy, which basically involves the craniopathist putting her hands on your head and channelling the energy or something. Sounds weird I know but I really felt different afterwards. She said she could feel my head soften towards the end. Whatever that means!! Look at it this way a massage is always nice in itself, and it is a good excuse to have a relaxing hour to yourself with no interruptions. That in itself is worth the money!!! If you have a go let me know how you get on. Love Scrumpy.

I think I'll have to look in to it too. I'm going away for Christmas so think it would be a good idea to do something like this just before I go..........but how did you go with the touchy feely thing. I'm hopeless at even having to talk to someone else and not sure how I would go at the moment with someone touching my head. I think any sort of massage might freak me out at the moment. Did you have any worries about going? I'm not really good in waiting rooms - especially some where out of my comfort zone. But do think I should do something as the holiday is causing me a bit of anxiety now that its getting closer but I really do want to have a good time while I'm away.
Take Care Love Carmen

I went for a spirtual healing of my chakas and it was amazing,it was a bit like rieki in that they don't actually touch you.(it was in one of those healing days tasters.)You lie on a bed and they remove toxins by releasing passage ways and blockages or something.... Could have been lying there for 45mins in a lovely atmosphere(harp playing lovely smells etc...but whatever I floated out

Hi scrumpy
I do not know anything about Craniopathy in particular and can not really comment about the merits of one alternative therapy over another - but I do know that one thing that really helps when we have PNI is to feel, important, looked after and cared for - perhaps even pampered for an hour or two at least each week and have time just for ourselves.
Anything that leads to us feeling this way from hairdressing to rekki healing is good and while I do not dispute that individual alternative therapies may have other benefits specific to the particular therapy that it is - they all also give you a half hour to an hour where one person devotes all that time to you only - and this can only be good.
I personally found Rekki very helpful for one because I really believe in the universal energy it claims to harness for our healing but two at every session I had an hour of time devoted just to me.
Therefore go for it - anything you think will help and as long as you can afford it as we can not deny that having these sorts of 'alternative' therapies are a luxury and they do cost - so do not put yourself under more stress by paying out for therapies you can not afford.
I think as well as the benefits and attributes of any individual therapy the reason having an half or an hour of time devoted to caring just for us works is this is how by nature we are designed to be cared for as mothers.
I am one of the original 70s feminists, campaigned for it all in the 70s and ran a project within London’s GLC for young women.
However it still seems obvious to me that we as a species were designed as social animals to have our babies within a strong extended family group - whereby we would look after the baby and others such as out spouse, the child’s father, granny even grandpa, aunts etc would look after us!
These days in a nuclear family we are expected to look after everybody!
Even sometimes our ailing parents - so little wonder a half hour or hour of time for caring just for us is welcome, even if it comes in the guise of alternative therapy, massage, the gym/personal trainer - if you can afford it!! hairdressing and beauty, a make up or underwear party or perhaps a religious ceremony of some sort – mass for instance.
Please do not think I do not believe in any of these things - I sure do in some of them - but I also feel that anything that makes you feel better and cared for is a good way to go and a good thing to try as long as you can afford it financially
All the best

You are right Veritee, I felt so good yesterday just from having an hour of 'me' time. That in itself was worth paying for I think! I have felt really good today as a result. I actually enjoyed spending time with Erin. Her mood was so much better too, she obviously feeds off my stress, as she always has more tantrums when I am down. Love Toni.

A bit dated in comparison to the other messages, but I've had craniopathy 3 times. The osteopath said I had something in the back of my neck which possibly could be the reason for the pressure behind my right eye. At the time of my first visit I had numb patches on my body and she did say that she wasn't sure if there was anything she could do about that. At the time of the first visit she said she could tell that I was completely knackered. Apparently the bones in my skull and neck just didn't want to move. In all honesty, I don't know if it made a difference. After the first visit I started catching up on my sleep and getting over the cold/tonsilitis I had but whether this had anything to do with the craniopathy I don't know. However, It was a lovely 30 mins just having time to myself and the osteopath was really friendly.
I'm due to try acupuncture this pm so we'll see. Will let you know how I get on.
