Dear all, just a quick one, please , never feel under pressure to return to work. You have certain rights when you have PNI and are currently in work or on maternity leave. I bought alot of leaflets from Maternity Alliance which i give to mums with PNI as part of our help with our group PNI-SH in Ashbourne Derbyshire UK. They are very useful. Also 'phone then for advice, never be bullied about returning to work if you are unwell. The website is: www.maternityalliance.org.uktelephone information line: 020 7490 7638 telephone 2 tier line: 0845 601 3386 There are 2 leaflets you can get from them: one is POSTNATAL DEPRESSION AND WORK. The second is: WORK RIGHTS AND WELFARE BENEFITS FOR WOMEN WITH POSTNATAL DEPRESSION They have another called: Premature Babies and Maternity Rights. They help you make an informaed decision about taking sick leave, changing your work hours, benefits, breastfeeding and work, unfair dismissal, where to go for advice and support.etc. ' In a nutshell' YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO KEEP YOUR JOB AT THE END OF YOUR MATERNITY LEAVE, EVEN WHEN YUO ARE ILL AND CANNOT ACTUALLY RETURN TO WORK. YOU CAN GET CERTAIN BENEFITS WHILE YOU ARE OFF SICK WHILE YOU ARE EMPLOYED. Extract from the Maternity Alliance Factsheet-PND and Work. Don't be intimidated life is hard enough being ill with PNi. best wishes, and love Deborah XXXxxxxx

Thanks again

hi deborah
thank you at present my employee are pushing for me to return to work, i have been of from work since my son was born i then took extended maturnity and then was put onto the sick, my son is now 18 months old and for the full time i have been off work no one had contacted me to see if i was ok or to offer support however 3 weeks ago they requested a report from the gp and then came out on a home visit last week , when they cam out there was 2 of them and they took minites, they pushed for me to return to work and advised that the gp report stated that she thought i was unfit to return and would be unliky to return within the next 6 months, they asked me to ask her again when she thought i would be fit for work and also asked me to ask my pysc however i told then i did not feel ready as it is a call centre where i work with over 300 people and i have panick attacks when in a busy area, may job also involves dealing with cust complaints.
my employees are asking for me to decided what i want to do i have worked there since 1998 full time and i advised that i wanted to return and was trying to get better however they advised they may have to terminate my contract!
canj they do this.
they are coming back out a week on tuesday.
i can not believe that they can not bother with me and then try to hassle me .

Hi rach
I know what you mean about work coming to your home. I had it and hated it . I have subsequently learned you can refuse such visits on the advise of your gp. So tomorrow speak to your GP and get himto refuse ,stop the visit if u are worried. You worked in a call centre as well as the animal farm in lanchester?, that must have been tough? i'm not surprised life poroved too much 2 jobs must be difficult to sustain. i hope you manage to stop the visit if not get through it

Hi there i was wondering if anyone could give me any advice? I am about to have a baby in a few weeks, i am off on maternity leave and my employer asked me to come back in Jan 07. I am not sure if i want to come back that early, but at the same time i may have to money wise. I am also having doubts about putting my little one into day care at that age. Anyone give me any advice?
