Hiya flower,
The main thing is try not to worry (I know, easier said than done), but if you make it an issue your little one will refuse even more.
My son was like this for a while...They go through these phases and aslong as it doesnt go on too long then just go with it.
Maybe get him some vitamin drops while hes going through this cause at least you'll know that he's getting the vitamins that he needs.
Maybe you could make up a picnic on the living room floor and put tiny amounts of different foods there and you sit and eat and he maybe will want to join in (especially if you include teddies or something like that)....Goodluck flower. He'll be fine, he's just showing that he knows what he wants (strong character there, not a bad thing for when hes older)...Love n hugs Cinders xxx

right ok time for an update. hes having Haliborange vitamin syrup once a day now. he doesnt eat at set times anymore, i just let him tell me when hes hungry, which cuts down on the waste food. i think i may have got to the root of the problem though, he just seems to eat things he can feed himself, so now i get him things like :
croissants breadsticks fruit chunks carrot sticks yoghurts plain popcorn boiled eggs weetabix cheesestrings
he also wont drink from a baby cup any more so i buy him fruit shoot drinks with sports caps in the tops.

have also discovered dairylea dunkers, one with cheese and breadsticks. he loved it at lunch today, we peeled off the foil together, then i verbally explained what to do with the breadsticks, and he just sat and got on with it. tonight at mums he ate a whole half (im tired lol) of jacket potato with cheese mashed in. even ate some of the skin

Hiya flower,
Just wondering how you're getting on with the food and your little man?? Thats a good idea to start a diary...at least you'll be able to look at it over the days and see that he is getting what he needs, which will calm the worry.....I think!
Anyway, thinking of you and hope you have a lovely day...Love n hugs Cinders xxx

right, now im back online i'll start up the food diary again. hes been eating well recently i know its probably not the best idea ive had but i give him things he can feed himself with little or no help, as that seems to be where the aggro stems from. he will let you feed him weetabix, but thats it. everything else he does himself. i started buying thick yoghurts so they dont run off the spoon on the way up lol. today he had toast and half a banana for breakfast, then at lunch he ate some bread and butter and some potato, and had a fruit shoot to drink. he had a choccie biccie this afternoon, and weetabix for his tea. hes even just gone to bed cross whatever you have to cross people, caz is getting an evening alone tonight!!! lol

mine love sultanas, fruit flakes (dried fruit section in Tesco) Babybels, little bits of ham, cucumber, carrot in funny shapes, ready brek biscuits (I got a recipe for those - dead easy) fruit loaf, malt loaf, tiny pitta breads, squeezy yoghurt drink things (Tesco and Asda own make)
Hope he likes some of it! I'm sure there's more but my brain is mush today

My daughter is 2 and 2 months and her eating is terrible. When she was about the same age as Cavan she would eat a few foods and nothing else so we said that we were going to stop giving in to her and give her the same as us. It has been really hard to give her her meals and nothing else and we still don't seem to be making any progress, in fact she now won't eat the things she used to! HV says just to go with it and if she's hungry she'll eat and that it's just typical 2 year old behaviour but I don't know how long we can keep this up, I really worry and stress about it
If anyone has anyone advice/ideas I would be really grateful

well today i had lunch at mums and we sat cavan in his old highchair up at the big table with us, and he had scrambled egg (he made it) and a satsuma. then for tea he had a boiled egg with a whole piece of brown bread and butter, a youghurt and a packet of carrot and corriander flavour corn snacks (from the Organix Goodies range) so maybe its getting them into the routine of "this is where we eat, and this is what youre having" if they dont want it then ok, put it to one side, and offer it later. but try not to give in to snacking on the go, coz cavan went through the stage of grazing on a little of this and that, so he wouldnt eat his meals. did that help you? its like the HV says, if they are hungry, they are smart enough to find food any way they can so go with it for now
