As you can see I am posting quite early. My little girl is just over 7 months and has slept through the night since she was 3 weeks old (I have been spoiled I know). Anyhow the past week she has been getting hysterical when we put her down at night and has resorted to finally falling asleep on her dad before going in her cot (can live with that) However, past couple days she has had a cold (as have I), and has been awake evry hour crying. Last night she was up every hour, crying for 20 mins, my OH would eventually settle her in his arms before putting her down but 10 mins later she is crying again. At 04.00 am I took over and she was ok whilst I was holding her but hysterical whenever I put her in her cot. In the end I brought her downstairs at 05.30 and she has been watching cbeebies ever since! Could it just be her cold causing this or have we started a new pattern of her not wanting to be in her cot. I am not sure if she just wants comfort because she is poorly or if she just doesn;t want to be in her cot anymore? Am i worrying about nothing? Any advice would be fab!

Hi Honey Just posted in my diary. Little man has been diagnosed with viral throat and ear infection and has ben the same sleep wise. Has always been a fabulous sleeper 7pm - 7am! Since Friday night doing similar to your little girl. Settled whilst on me but then once down only lasts about 20 minutes. Think it's just feeling poorly, never been a cuddly baby but now wants holding all day! Good Luck KL xxx

Hi hun,
Sounds to me she is ill, I'd agree with Gary, poss ear infection. Generally if they have that they dont like lying down, causes pressure in the middle ear. Which resultantly hurts.
Is she blocked up by any chance. Steven as a baby got a bad cold and started to get wheezy when he was laid on his back, apparently due to the mucus. Try propping her up. I used to put towels under the matress in a wedge shape, stops them choking.
Good luck, let us know how she is. If shes not much better I's head to the doc, might need an antibiotic. And of course lots of cuddles so dont stress its normal when the feel poorly
Love and hugs Sarah x
