cavans 2 and a half. hes eating loads but only certain things, and only when he wants them. toast, oranges, raisins, yoghurt and ice cream seem to be all he wants at the moment. he will eat for my mum but not me. the only vitamins i can find are for 3+yrs. also hes not sleeping. i mean he is just flat out refusing to sleep. he hasnt napped for months now hes had 3 in 3 days! hes set in his routine, he will tell me whats happening/about to happen then when it comes to getting in to bed he refuses. he likes a bath after cbeebies, then was going to bed at 8-8.30 and settling, sleeping til 9am. now he is staying up just as late as me and on the rare nights i can get him in his bed he screams as soon as his light and music go off. is it selfish of me to want the room dark and quiet when i go to sleep? what do i do? ive tried everything i can think of!

Not sure about the sleep Caz? But as for the food, i have discovered that my little one was playing me up for a while eating anything for anyone but me! I just persevered with putting what i made in front of her and gave her the choice of eat it or go without. After about a week she realised i meant it and started eating what i wanted her to eat again. The only problem i have with her now is i cant stop her eating!

Hi Caz, The eating is a phase that a lot of kids go through, mine included It is hard but you have to do what WG suggests and not let him see that it is bothering you. It is a control thing, 1 area of his life where he can choose etc As for the sleeping, all you can do is perservere. Most kids sleeping pattern changes before a developmental change so at least you know there could be a reason for it Thinking of you as I have been there with my own lo Sare xx

Thats great Caz! Well done on getting the five a day down him! I have never managed to get my LO to eat any fruit what so ever! She just spits it out! Bizzarre as she will eat anything else!
Hope the good sleeping continues!
