Gastroenteritis

Hi all,

My son has had gastroenteritis. He started vomiting on sunday night and still has explosive diarrhoea 4 days later. As he is my first I'm not sure how long it should go on for? He is drinking ok but not much of an appetite.

Any advice would be very much appreciated

Hi Clarey,
my two had it for over nearly 2 weeks. I take it he's been seen by gp? If you're still worried, ask them for diyoralyte, which he drinks post diarrhoea, he'll eat soon. Your local pharmacist is also a great source of help if you don't want gp appt.

Yes I took him to gp's and they said just let it take its course. Things are improving day by day so thats good. Thanks for the advice ,
