The narrator is Derek Jacobi who also narrates in Little Britain. In the night garden makes me laugh for this reason only :-)

UPDATE! We bought wee one ITNG dvd supposed to be for Xmas from Santa, but she had been ill this week so put it on to cheer her up...she has now figured out how to switch on the DVD player and can watch it any time she pleases (obviously a technical genius! ).....but she can't/won't use cutlery! Anyone else love the Makka Pakka song............. xx

I just noticed this thread and I have to say I have been in stitches reading it.
Yes it is the little britain guy who narates it, it was my OH that pointed that out and yes that now makes me laugh too.
But it really is the biggest load of rubbish I have ever seen in all my life. I mean what with the stupid names! As for the characters I'm not even sure what they r suposed to be. My eldest 2 1/2 says mummy that silly and askes to change but my baby 5 months loves it. He sits fascinated, by the colours I assume, lol.
Yep caterina, my lad can work the dvd too but I'm not lucky enough to get something simple i get tractors and monster trucks and these horrible songs (although extremly ctachy and stick in ure head) about farming and dung and stuff! Next time you get makka pakka think of me with my dung songs lol

Both my baby and me love this programme. I like the weirdness of it and think it is sweet. And of course the fact that it makes my baby sit still Bought him the DVD last month after we moved house and couldn't get freeview any more. Gives me 20 mins peace at the end of the day. Baby does follow the simple story lines. He gets very upset when the tombliboos aren't wearing their trousers. And when IgglePiggle lost UpsyDaisy he said "gone". It is clever how they make programmes to catch our baby's attention so well. What bothers me is the baby programmes on the other channels with all the adverts. If they can be so excited about seeing ITNG stuff then the adverts are probably worse. We just don't watch the other channels so that we don't see the adverts.
