Its been ages since I was on here. I felt so ill for about a week after my birthday do and haven't so much as sipped a drop of wine since, it took me 3 days before I could eat properlly. Think maybe I had a tad too much. So whats happened since then? well a couple of days of having to be hospitable to family when they came round for mine and Joeys actual birthday. Feeling of coping reasonably well. Followed by the biggest birthday party disarster so far. After paying over £150 to hire out a hall and 2 bouncy castles, loads of food and party bags specially thought out for kids with allergies all of let me see 5 kids turned up the worst part of it was having Joey stood by the door asking 'mummy when are my friends coming?' I honestly don't know how I kept it together but I did think it may have been more anger than anything else. And no-one has bothered to talk to me about it since they went back to school either. Needless to say that put me on a real downer, which eventually came to a head. Realized I hadn't taken my tablets for a few days. The kids went back to school ok. Jays friend Zac still isn't back, he had chicken pox so bad he looks like his whole face has been burnt. Another one of his friends has left and another one is off for 3 weeks at least coz he's had an operation. BUT they have the same teacher woo hoo. I have decided them going back to school was a good time to start loosing weight. I have been walking them to and from school, saving a small fortune in petrol and actually enjoying it. I am also managing to get up and sorted out in time to walk too which shows a big improvement. I started watching what I was eating on Monday and by Saturday I had lost 10lb ;D ;D I need to loose a huge amount, about 6 stone to get to within my 'ideal' weight. Not sure how far I'll get but so far so good. Just want to get to below 30BMI so we can try for another baby. Feeling quite positive at the moment and really do feel as though I have made a big improvement, dispite having a funny turn last week and coming close to cutting myself again. I had a chat with the doc a few days back too which helped. He really listened and took the time to go through my medical history with me and has said he is confident I should be able to get over this properlly and doubts that I will need to be on tabs for life, but also said if I did I could still have another baby. He is going to keep me on the tabs for as long as possible because I am prone to relapsing. Think hthat just about covers it.

Been ignoring my diary again, sorry diary Loads has been happening as usual. I'm still dieting all be it rather half heartedly now but I have managed to keep the 1/2 stone off which is actually showing as well. S has got his shoulder pain back, really bad this time. He thinks it may have been set off by playing the wii and having to shake the controller. He has had this since the November before he had meningitis, so well over a year now. Everytime he goes to the docs they say its a pulled muscle in his chest as thats where the pain used to be based and with tingling down his left arm. Needless to say he has had plenty of ECGs to check he's not having a heart attack, which I have to say the doc at A&E found highly amusing once before Anyway he went into work about a week ago and ended up coming home because he couldn't feel his arm and 3 fingers and his shoulder was killing him. Work got all huffy surprise surprise. This time we saw the nurse at the docs and she gave him a proper look over and called a doc into see him. They think he has got a compressed disc in his neck and have sent him for an MRI scan. He is signed off work til after ts done on the 28th April. In the meantime he is still in loads of pain and has had to go back once already for better painkillers. The day after all this happened he was supposed to be having a tooth out. We are both terrified of the dentists but because he gets so much pain he does make it into the chair (unlike me). They gave him 6 injections and it still didn't numb the area properlly. He looked and sounded like it was numb but as soon as they started he was saying it was really painful. S is not one to complain with something that would be so quick but he almost passed ot twice and did throw up in there. The tooth is still in his mouth and he has antibiotics. They will try again this Tuesday coming. Jason had his parents evening and is doing well thankfully. The teacher they have now is working them well but the whole class is still behind on language and literacy, which isn't Jays strong point anyway coz of his speech and hearing. His maths is way up though and he has scored a 9 in 2 areas which puts him at the start of year 1 already. Have to say I am happier about it all now. Plus they are sorting out his IEP ;D My uncles cancer is back with a vengance which is obviously hard on my mum and nan, made worse by the fact that everything is being put on my mum again and I am near ready to lump the whole of that side of the family for it. Sounds terrible but I will be glad when its all over with. Isn't that horrible of me? Thats about all I can be bothered to write now, getting tired.

Hi Giz
Oh my God so sorry about your Uncle babes! And poor S at the dentist!! Whats up with the anesthetic not working on him??? That would really freak me out. No wonder he was so ill if he was feeling all that pain in his nerves! Poor love.
Sounds like he might have trapped something at the top of his shoulder. That would cause pins and needles and loss of feeling in fingers. When will he get his MRI scan??
Hope things pick up for you guys soon babes and you can all get back to normal!!
WG xx

Hi WG The dentist rekons he has got an infection that he didn't know about because of all the painkillers he has been taking for his shoulder. Also he did have an infection before my birthday bash and was on antibiotics when we got totally plastered which may not have been the best thing to do ... ooops I forget which way round it is now but the infection I think is acid and the anesthetic is alkaline so all that happens is they cancel each over out and neutralise it all, hense the pain. His MRI is on 28th April (next monday, week tomorrow) the doc thinks he has a disc out of line or compressing in his neck. Could be physio, injections in his neck or possible operation but that will be last resort. Got to go having chinese for dinner, better go pick it up. Bang goes my diet ;D

Just a brief one. Got a cold, feel like crap. On the plus side though S did have his tooth pulled yesterday and it appears to be healing well so far. Has put me right off having mine done through. The root had a hook in the end of it so it was difficult to get out and was a bottom one which are harder anyway. I have been given an appointment for a checkup in August and am panicing about it already. The nice dentist we have found is leaving so the last time we will see him is when the kids go next month. S and I have been put on to a new woman, hope she's ok. He has an appointment just before me for fillings and I'm terrified about just being looked at let alone anything else.

I don't know if it will help but I take my phone and listen to the radio, picturing the first time I saw the kids and reminding myself that childbirth is worse It stops me freaking out

Thats not a bad idea, though I have to admit I didn't find childbirth that bad really. W've had a busy week or so as usual. S tooth started to heal quite well and he finally made it on to solid food just in time to loose a front crown. We looked like a right pair because a few days before hand I had managed to give myself a black eye. Typical me really. We were having problems with the internet so I went to change the modem over, only the lead was too tight so I gave the table one almightly push and promptly whacked myself in the face forgetting the table has a door right where I put my hand We have been without internet for over a week now. It's not bothered me as much as I thought it would, although I have missed this site. I started last week with a stinking cold which S finally caught just before going for his MRI on the Monday. The scan went well and he said it was quite relaxing and only took about 20 mins so that was good just waiting on results now. The rest of the week was me feeling sorry for myself. Mixture of cold and pre-period, also wrecked with guilt at not having been sucessful in arranging anything for PNI awareness weekend. I was really up for the idea too. Maybe I will go on a big surge in the summer when I'm feeling more capable. My hormones have been driving me up the wall again this period. Seems I have settled into a proper routine where I start on the 1st of the month (or there abouts). Still very heavy and lots of flooding (sorry TMI) but I am determind not to give in and go back on hormone replacement stuff like I did when I was alot younger. I have strugg;ed over the last few days. MIL has been my main target this month, just through seeing more of her I think. There has been alot of buggering about with games consoles again. The xbox is back out again and this time being replaced with a PS3 another thing we now owe the MIL for. Then there was the trapsing about looking for a bluetooth headset for it and surprise surprise we ended up with a new snazzy telly to go with. Must owe the MIL thousands now. S is still off work. Its been nice having him around, though I did start to feel a bit cramped for a while. This weekend we have sorted out alot in the living room. Got the blind up finally and moved everything again. I even cleaned the arm chair. I do feel as though I am winning this battle with my head now, its just the period thing that messes it all up but then I have suffered with that since I was 8. I have come to the conclusion that I will beat PNI in fact I pritty much already have but will most probably suffer blips of depression for the rest of my life. Again something that I have suffered with since I was 8. I guess all that is really wrong with me now is just a plain normal hormone imbalance, I just need to learn to read it better. It was the elections at the weekend. I did my usual stint at the polling station for my Dad. That made me relize just how far I had come in a year because I remembered being there last year and finding I could only just cope with it. This time I actualy enjoyed it slightly. I made it to the evening verification as well this year which was really good as you get a very good idea of the result. Dad sent me to one of the 'less important' wards to watch and tally but was impressed with how well I did. The count in the morning was fairly straight forward, Dad breezed through as expected although their votes were down a bit on last year. He says this will be the last time he stands but we'll see. I had a good chat with one of the members who does alot for the green party and she was really interested in this site and the awareness weekend. She is very into recycling and was happy to help me collect milk bottle tops and advertise. I also put a notice up in the block of flats about the awareness weekend. I suppose I should have asked to put something in the school newsletter but I couldn't face another lecture from the head on what people do and don't and may or may not agree with. Thats about it really. We got our Wii fit. Bloody thing screams when I stand on it and shows me as the only member of the family with a belly sticking out of the t.shirt. On the plus side it is working well to get Joey eating more because she is shown as severly underweight and her Mii keeps fainting. lol. I had her doing yoga this evening before bed along with hoola hooping, ski jumping and Jas was attempting press ups bless him. The rabbits also have their extention. I attached 2 runs together and cut through so they are well happy.

I don't think you'd have a problem actually WG. To be fair I started it up on a very Prementral day which was not a good idea at all. Looking back at it now I actually quite like it. It takes you Mii and once you have done the weigh in and measurements it slides up a scale from underweight, ideal, overweight and obsese. I am right at the top of obsese. The good thing is that it shows you a physical change as you loose the weight and it squeels whoever stands on it. Its really quite funny. You get this high pitched voice say 'step on me .... ouch' It has worked well with Joey because she is showing as very underweight and so her mii looks all frail and weedy, it has worked wonderers by telling her the wii says she isn't eating enough (so handy when kids can't read all the stuff on screen).
The games are great. You have 4 sections yoga, muscle excersise, cardio and balance. You get the chance of doing a body test everyday but don't have to which is good coz if you are dieting you should only weigh yourself once a week. The test tells you your BMI, weight, posture and has 2 balance games as well. In te training you get a piggy bank that collects coins for every minute you train and you can choose a male or female trainer. I think you start off with 4 or 5 things i each category and you choose what you do and when which is good. The 1st yoga one is just breathing, then you have a couple of others like the moon thing and the one shown on the box on one leg. The muscle ones are like stomach crunches (only a few) and pressups, lunges etc. The cardio has jogging through a really cool looking park with waterfalls etc and all your mii friends runing past waving. You have to stay behind the person in front and can after a while of doing this choose a short, medium or long distance. Then theres te hoola hooping well funny, a step thing to music and 2 person jogging. You open up more as you go along. The balance on eis good as well, you get a sort of platform thing with a ball on and you have to shift your weight to tilt it. Then there's fottie headering, skiing through the flags and ski jumping.
It really is good fun. You could easily be on it for ages. At the moment S and I are trying to beat each others ski jumping distance.

I'll admit to Wii Fit not being played much at the moment. Mainly because hubby is around and I'm sensitive enough about my weight and hate excersise so pratting about infront of him is a definate no no for me right now. The weight issue is yoyoing like mad. I lost 10lb, put it back on, lost 6lb, put that back on and am now about 7lb lighter than I was when I started. Must focus. S had his results back from the MRI, the doc rang to say it was all clear. I guess we should have been pleased but all it meant at the time was that he had had loads of time off work for no medical reason. Needless to say that put him on a complete downer. He then got a letter from the physio (doc said she was refering him as urgent) 2 days later and then a phone call the same day. That was good and he got an appointment the following day. The physio was really good, gave him a througher going over and said she was certain the pains were to do with the meningitis he had 1 1/2 yrs ago. The fact that the OHS and work forced him to go back to full duties far too early. So that was a turn up anyway and it helped to have a better idea of what is wrong. Thing is she also said he would be off work for at least 6 more weeks. Now he is really down. Has also been trying to find a way to get back racing again, this is stressing the pair of us out big time. Anyway, Jason is fine after a week of very very mild chicken pox and a lot of mario kart (little bugger has completed more than me now) Got a busy week next week. Mock tests for that coarse we did with the kids on Monday followed by an interview at Assend. Wednesday is some reading meeting at the school, boy am I loking forward to that one, want to know what they think they are doing with Jason. Thursday is S doc appointment and a trip to his work and then Friday is cruch time when he decides if he is replacing the xbox to get rock band or what.
