this is a thread for me to off put my feeling into about my births.
my first birth.
i got pregnant with my first child at 20 yrs .
i was nervous about it but belated.
i went over due by 5 days and was told i would be induced.
the day i was going to induced my waters went but didn't contract.
i was admitted into hospital and put on a drip this was to make my come.
it was a long process of waiting.
when my contractions started they was so painful so the midwife gave me some gas and air.
it got to the point were i was in so much pain i was screaming so i had a epidural to get rid of the pain.
i managed to get some rest but not for long cos the epidural was wearing off quicker than it should.
the midwife gave me some more then did a internal check as was shocked to find out i was dilated fully.
she called in a second midwife and they told me to start pushing.
i was pushing for two hours it was unsuccessful cos i was still numb from the epidural.
the midwife called in a registrar to help with my birth and because i was tired from all the pushing the gave me a episiotomy and a ventouse delivery.
my little boy was born weighting 7lbs 8Oz's.
he was perfect.
i was put up onto the ward and the ward midwife told me that my birth would have been less stressful for me if they had done the internal check before the epidural top up.
so it turns out i have delivered normal if it wasn't for the midwife interference.
i was in labour for 52hours.
my second birth.
i went into hospital because i started to get contractions.
i was surprised to find out i was 4 cm.
i was given gas and air for the pain.
i cope with this most of the way through my labour.
they did a check and found i was fully dilated and i was told i could push.
after half hour of pushing and screaming for epidural i felt my baby's head coming, it gave me the strength to carry on.
my baby girl was born weighting 6lbs 12Oz's.
i had tore abit but not enough for stitches.
i found this birth less stressful.
i went home the same day.
3rd birth.
my birth was a home birth.
i woke up to having very bad bellyache but it was cope able so carried on as usual.
we went shopping.
that night the pains was getting worse and i felt i needed some pain relief so i phoned my midwife.
she came out and did a check on me and told me i was 3cm.
in was given a internal membrane sweep and told to phone if i got worse with my pain.
so for the next 3 hours i just pacing around the house.
the midwife came back at 2pm and did another check i was 7cm by then.
i walked around and had gas and air for the pain.
then i got the overwhelming urge to push so my midwife said if you got to push then do it.
it took me half hour to push the baby out.
my baby boy was born weighting 6lbs 6Oz's.
i got thought it with just gas and air, on cuts tears nothing.
Ive made this thread to show how different births can be.
it shows no matter how hard or wonderful birth can be you still can get pni.
