Sounds like pregnancy hormones to me hun, but even without PNI I was over-protective with my eldest. I remember when he went to school for the first time when he was 2.5 and I spent a few days worrying that he would walk out of the front door or get lost, or hurt himself. Took me about a week to put my trust in the school, but he's been there almost 9 years now and hasn't escaped yet ;D
So no you aren't going mad, this sort of thinking doesn't just happen with PNI, it's the worrying that never goes away once you become a mum.
How far are you now Caterina?
Hugs

Hi Caterina
I am with Scarlet on this one - sounds like hormones. Its wierd how they make us all super protective and mumsy and stuff but it does happen!
Glad LO is getting into the idea of baby coming along now. When is your due date? So exciting!!!

Hi Scarlet and winegirl Ta for getting back to me, I think you're both right it's just pregnancy craziness..I tend to get something into my head and worry worry worry.....until the next thing comes along!! LOL! I remember being this way 1st time round but it kinda subsided a bit as she got bigger, I 'd forgotten how mad pregnancy makes you! The hormones have gone a bit wild this time, we were at a 2 yr old birthday party recently and I cried my eyes out the whole way home..no clue why! It was a lovely party! Hubby very tentatively asked if it was just pregnancy and got his head bitten off..I had to grovel a bit later! My due date is 25th July but I have a funny feeling I'll go early, just the same as last time..when I went 10 days late!! I go between wanting July to come quickly as I'm pretty uncomfortable..my pelvis is falling to bits, and not wanting to hurry this as it's probably the last time I'll be pregnant and I LOVE to feel the bubby move around in there! ;D xxxxxx I'm kinda taking a break from the rest of the forum for now as I'm finding other people's problems are affecting me quite a lot and not sure I can support right now, hope you all understand and I'll be back fighting fit soon..hopefully!

Hi ladies I'm still here lurking in the background! Only 2 weeks to go now..woo hoo!! Have full on SPD boo, got crutches which as you can imagine are great toys for my 2 year old!! That's about as much use as they get! Still managing to keep my head together most of the time, have had some upheaval (new jobs, selling property, death in family) and I'm still finding the funny side (most days) so that can't be a bad thing right?? A bit off the topic but has anyone any experience of childbirth and SPD? My legs need to stay together or the pain in my pelvis is pretty damn awful (yes I know the irony that I should have kept them together 9 months ago!!) but can anyone suggest a comfy position to keep legs together but still let the baby out? Thanks girls xxx

Hi Caterina
Not long now - two weeks - bet you will be glad when the LO arrives!!!
I havent had SPD but knew someone who did and you are right you have to keep your legs together - god knows how you are going to do that when giving birth but I wish you all the luck. Have you spoken to your midwife about it?? expect you have but just wondered what she said?
Good luck and look forward to hear all the detaisl!! lol
Take Care

I had SPD but never had to keep my legs together? Once in labout I never notices the SPD and as soon as LO was born it disappeared! My legs were certainly not together lol xxx
Only 2 weeks... oooh you could be early this time! Maybe like this week!! LOL x
Thinking of you babes x

Hi Caterina,
I had SPD. I kept telling my midwife but she just said I needed a support belt. I gave birth laying on my back so when my legs were apart consequently gravity was pulling them even further down. I'm not an expert but could you give birth on all fours or maybe on your side and get someone to hold your leg up (not sure if that's possible actually)? One word of advice....after you have had the baby just be careful when getting out of bed. I nearly collapsed with the pain...Ikept forgetting but I did find that it got a lot better within a week.
Good luck for the birth. You've made me all broody again!!

Hi
Good tohear from you and that you're well apart from the spd. All the best with the birth.
re: positions, as someone said on all fours or on your side. My friend gave brith on her side and from memory it didnt' involve her legs being too spread. Can your midwife, dr or physio give you any tips?
Will be thinking o fyou. May it be painfree and quick!

Hi ladies I'll keep you posted with all the gory details Little lotty! Maybe too much info!! My midwife is sympathetic but fairly useless! I did ask and she just looked a bit blank so I'm relying on the hospital midwives to know something! Scarlet it's symphisis pubis dysfunction, where a joint in your pelvis seperates too much due to preg hormones, causes all sorts of mayhem while walking, sitting, picking up toddlers etc and hurts like hell! Maybe not a medical explanantion but how I understand it! Add in sciatica which I've had off and on for years and I'm wandering about like an old big bellied wifey! Still smiling though hun! Winegirl, lol gimme that epidural now!! Was going for the old gas & air plan but after having a few practice contractions the other day I'm thinking that numb from the waist down is the way to go!! I'd forgotten the pain from 1st time round I think! Lara, cheers for advice, I'll try and be careful with myself, have been warned it can take a while to subside after the birth so will hobble about and make my hubby look after me! Monica, thanks for positions, I've asked about this and was just told to keep my legs together as much as possible! May be quite a feat whilst trying to get a baby out! Thanks for all your good wishes girls, just wondering if every day will be labour day now! It still hasn't quite sunk in that I'm going to have 2 kids! I'm definitely not a grown up yet and it seems a very grown up thing to have! My wee girl started with potty training today, much against my better judgememt but she informed me 'no more nappies!' so who am I to argue?! ;D Hope you're all having good days xxx

Hi Caterina Thanks for your replying to my other thread. Thought I'd come here to see what you've been saying through your pregnancy. Has made me smile and I can so relate to your little rant a few months ago. Only 2 weeks to go - oooh, I'll be looking out now to hear your news Although I had SPD last time I don't know about positions because never got that far - had to have an emergency c-section before even getting into labour. So sorry I can't help you on that. Good luck with the potty training. I've spoken to 2 mums recently with little girls and they have both recently potty trained in a week. The girls just got it! Love 'em. My boy is a different story altogether! Take care, FloBob x

Hi girls I have a bit of a strange question and I warn you now it's a total too much information situation! Here goes.... I've been told the baby's head has engaged into my pelvis, now this didn't happen at all last time, she just kinda floated about until I went into labour, so I have no idea if what I'm feeling is normal..as if anything in pregnancy is normal! Apart from noticing more pain in the pelvis (expected that though as I was warned) I've also noticed an increase in pressure, the only way I can describe it is that sometimes it feels like the baby is going to fall out! Now I'm an educated woman and know that's not possible but what on earth is it all about?!? The baby has dropped quite a bit in the last few days as I've noticed the 'lightening' I believe it's called, plus my bladder is now officially tiny! with every drop comes a bit more pressure and I was convinced that the baby was going to pop out while I was on the loo the other day! Sorry, thats the TMI part! Help! xx
