Gizmoreacre's reply (sorry, Giz - forgot about announcement threadsx)
------------------------- Just noticed I can't post on the other thread so I will put it here instead.
In answer to Winegirl asking about putting up posters at GP surgeries etc. I certainly would, I think all you have to do is show it to the practice manager to OK it. I was also going to contact local schools and ask them to put up a poster and something in a newsletter.
And get this one. I mentioned it to my Dad and he is going to get me a slot at an official council meeting a few weeks before hand to tell everyone what we are doing and why. He says if I take a load of sponcerforms along all the councellers will join in as no-one will want to look red faced as the one who doesn't. That could help.

Excellent.
Any idea how long it will be to get the go ahead? My Dad mentioned it to his college today and he was surprised we had left it so late to organise ?! (and theres me thinking we have plenty of time) He said that basically the council would need to be informed asap because of using the park, incase there is anything else pre-booked. So note to anyone looking at using a public area like a park, you do need the councils permission, not that this is hard to get as they are generally all for it. Its just incase someone else decides to book the park for a fairground or other charity walk etc. They can say no. I will probably get intouch with them tomorrow and make sure it is OK and just say I am waiting on the final confirmation.

Maybe we can get some leisure centres that have running tracks to get involved as this would be an ideal place to do the walks. Liz x
