Perinatal Mental Health South West Regional Meeting: 2008This is being held on the Thursday 13 March 2008 09.30 - 16.00 hrs at the Conference Centre, Buckfast Abbey, Devon Does anyone live near enough - and/or wants to come with me? To this meeting to represent women with PNI in the South West Area? And our charity PNI ORG UK If so I would really appreciate some company as this sort of meeting is not something I am comfortable with but we have been invited and I feel we should be represented and it woudl be nice to have company We can pay for the entrance fee but not for travel or expensesYou do not have to be an expert of any kind - I certainly am not - just someone who believes in raising awareness of PNI from the point of view of those who suffer it and be willing to attend a meeting of what will mostly be professionals in the field ( psychologists, psychiatrists, midwives, HVs, GPs etc) that might at times seem not relevant to what we suffer personally. But if we go and at least represent women here by our presence I hope at least we will be doing our bit!! If you are interested please email me or phone me on 01326340360 In Hope Veritee

Hiya Veritee
What a shame - I'll be in Leeds that week with my family but if this event is an annual thing I would really love to come and support the cause at the next meeting. A chance for professionals to hear from women who have been through PNI and different types of treatment is really vital!
If you would like to have something written down about my own experiences of support for Puerperal Psychosis in East Devon, and especially the importance of peer support groups such as PNI.org I would be more than happy to put some thoughts together for you to take to the meeting.
Much love Naomi
