Citalopram? ... and breastfeeding?

I have been recommended to try citalopram (gp) a long while ago and although I declined it with obstination I am now reconsidering my initial decision...
I feel I am more suffering from anxiety and stress, makes me act weird, rushed decision, not always reasonable - based on anxieties picked up along my course...
Do you think it could help with that?
I am also undergoing therapy (been for 3 years!!!) but although I still think it is the only hope for me - therapy- I worry that I can't do or go along just like that, I feel I understand more what my "problem" is now and if I was to take citalopram for a while, well as they say at least 6 months, I could make greater progress...

Sorry I ramble on...

But also, I am breastfeeding - am quite obstinated with that, and I don't want to stop... it is not just for me, it is also for the baby I am breastfeeding, and for both of us at the same time, as I feel, it helps me bond easier (find it difficult...) I know there are plenty of other ways, but this one works for me and I find it easy...
Anyone breastfeeding and taking of has in the past, citalopram?

i think you can take citalopram and breastfeed but it does have a cumulative effect in the milk plasma.
I was on it initially but then read sertraline is better if you are breastfeeding as it is barely detectable in the milk.

Also, it depends how old you LO is. A newborn would be much different where BFing is concerned than a 6 month old, I would have thought.

I have found sertraline very good.
