We have a bit of a dilemma and my DH is not being very helpful about it, just tells me it is up to me...... My LO (who is 2 in a couple of weeks time) will be moving into the bigger room in our house in a couple of months once DH has re decorated it, so baby (due in October) can have the nursery. She is going with her cot/bed cos I want a smaller cot for the next one (cot bed takes up too much room in the tiny room) so should we leave it as a cot till she is ok in new room or get her used to a bed and then move her.....? Any advice gratefully received! xxx

Hmmmm, thats a good question. First of all I would ask, how is she in her cot at the minute? Has she tried to climb out of it in any way, or is she still quite merrily going in her cot and staying there... is she still comfortable with the cot surroundings around her or is she waking up and banging herself on it. I have twins and I have to say, that they were nearly 3 before I could get them out of their cots, and I swear it was not me locking them in the things, they just did not want to be in a normal bed, so I guess maybe it should go on how your little one is. If you do not need the cot/bed for your new arrival, maybe you could try and talk with your little girl and see if you get any good or bad responses from suggesting a change of bed. Does she know that when baby comes, she will be changing rooms?
Whatever you decide, I am sure it will all work out well.

Thanks Chica - she is fine in the cot at the moment, can't climb out of it and doesn't try. Doesn't bang into the sides or anything like that. So yes part of me thinks if we don't need her out of it (which we don't cos she is moving with it) then why rock the boat.
Not sure if she understands bout baby or that she is moving rooms (her language development has been slower than everything else so she doesn't talk properly to us yet, but she does understand a lot of what we say me thinks!)
Will have to have another chat with DH about it me thinks and make him realise I need his input!
