So as some of you know I have been having reflexology recently for my anxiety. I have had it in the past also for PCOS (Polycyctic Ovary Syndrome)
I having been having lots of talks with my reflexologist who agrees with me that the mind and the body are both affected by hormones. If you think about, hormones affect every function in your body, so surely they would affect your mental health too??
PCOS is known as a hormonal inbalance between LH and FSH in your body. And over the years I have come across lots of ladies who have suffered both PCOS and PNI and I am starting to wonder if there is some link here...
I have googled PCOS and PND and come across even more stories of women who have suffered both, but it never seems to have been connected anywhere!
So I was wondering if anyone on here can comment if they have also experienced PCOS as well as PNI?? I know many suffer at `that time of the month' so it just proves to me even more that it is all hormonally linked. I would love to be able to initiate someone to so some real research into hormones linked to PNI.
I discovered that there was once a doctor who figured that mental health problems were related to hormones (makes sense to me), and so he went with his theory to an acute ward where he treated the patients with some hormone or other (cant remember which one) and they all improved! Unfortunately, this disgruntled many psychiatrists and others in the field as it sort of damned years of there work and this man was removed from the ward and his research destroyed (not making this up by the way - it is fact)
So it bothers me that research is not being carried out into the links between hormones and mental health...
Therfore I would like to put something together to try and initiate this sort of research to begin. I figure it will take me years, but I am very passionate about it.
So if anyone has ever suffered PCOS, or any other disorder caused by hormones (thyroid problems etc..), could you please post here??
Thanks in advance if you have got to the end of this post! lol x
