Hi girls, bit of an iffy one for you. Both hubby and I have always felt very comfortable walking around in front of J in the nude. However, as he is getting older he's getting more curious!! He obviously has realised that i don't have a "winky" and has asked me what I have got instead!!! There's only so long I can get away with saying "my bits" lol! Do you think I should just come right out and say "vagina"? Just don't particularly want him repeating the word at school!! Any words of wisdom xx

Hiya luv,
Depends on how old but I went for proper names. My 6 year old knows that mum has a vagina and that's where I do my pee's. Nothing More than that. Girls and boys have different body parts. Hence why daddy has a penis to do his pee. But he knows that in front of the younger ones it's called a ladies bum and a willy. That's what we called them when he was little. As soon as questions started we were open about it. As for walking about naked, well I wouldn't say no. Within reason of course but my children were all breast fed and subsequently comfortable with boobs. Below there is covered but I don't stop them coming into bathroom etc. As children my bro and i were aware of the diff and were comfortable with it so I think it lead to less embarrassment when the time came for questions.
Maybe we're wrong but I'm not into tutu and foo foo like my friend calls it. Why lie? Honesty is the best way to tackle it, ESP when they get older. Imagine sex ed and the boy pops up with look there's a foo foo! Up here sex ed starts at 8!
Sarah xx

Lol I agree to a degree... but I call my own bits 'vagege' lol! As awful as it is, I think the kids all get taught by other kids at school anyway lol. I still remember a boy telling me what his penis was called when I was 7 and it wasn't embarrassing for me and I wasn't ridiculed either I say just call it what you're comfortable saying hun N xxx
