Hi and welcome from me too. The health anxiety wasn't one of my symptoms but I know of many ladies whom it did/does affect. Have you had any type of counselling or cbt for your anxieties? X

It's something Ive suffered from since I was around 15. But since I had my baby I've just got a lot worse currently waiting for more counciling :-(. Just horrible I feel as if I'm missing all the enjoyment of being a mum as I'm too busy trying to make myself believe I'm not dying of some horrible disease. I joined the forum in hope to talk to people who have felt the same way as maybe this may help a bit?

Hiya
I had extreme health anxiety since I was a very young girl, it was never diagnosed back then and the doctors never gave me any help for it as I got older.
Things got alot worse once I had my baby, I was a complete mess.
since I had the baby they (doctors and health worker) really helped me alot, I started the CBT and OMG it's the best thing I have ever done. It helped me understand so much, we went back years and found out what triggered it all as a child and I could clearly see how it built up over the years..
The CBT helped me so much and gave me the right tools to get better and stay well.
I hope you do well with your CBT, just remember to really put the work into it from day one and it'll be rewarding for you x

I completed some cbt just months before I became pregnant I wasnt too bad with all the medical precedures through pregnancy but did have a really healthy straight forward one. But I found as soon as I gave birth I was slapped in the face with the health anxiety again and it's just got worse over the ten months I've had her . I just feel like I will never beat this thing ?

You will beat it honey and you'll find ways of being able to manage it better in every day life. Is it possible for you to do some further cbt? X

Thank you for your reply :-). I'm currently awaiting to be assessed again so I'm guessing I may be put back into it some how. But I did request to see the person as last time But it's not possible so unfortunately it looks like staring a fresh with some one else , but hopefully a second pop at it may give me what I need?. I appreciate your positiveness and I know I need to be more positive about it but after 15 years of this it's easy to feel stuck with it. It gets you in the frame of mind where I can't enjoy the present as I'm too busy worrying about the future. Sometimes I just wish I could just have one day off from it just so I could relax and enjoy what I have around me now!!! Instead of missing everything from being too busy with daft worries and what ifs.

Hi it's tough isn't it. Have you tried distracting yourself when it gets to much. Perhaps do a jigsaw, or watch a film. Also be kind to yourself, you'd be surprised how common this is, most people are as sensible as you and don't ask for help.
Well done, hope the weekend is ok

Hi thanks for your reply, Yeah really tough!!! Is this something youve had to deal With? If I can I do try and keep busy like cleaning or something, but most times It's too intense to distract myself with it being such a constant thing it's hard to always keep busy if you understand ? At the moment I find I'm more anxious in a morning and at night as soon as I open my eyes in a morn the adrenaline is already pumping :-( just wish there was some easy way of dealing with all this

I really understand how that is, my body gets like that on overdrive. Sorry it took me a week to post my eldest son has a habit of stealing my iPad.

Hi
Hw are you doing? Any changes? That adrenaline rush frost thing is awful. Perhaps when you wake and go to Ed try slow deep breathing to help calm urself down. What are your Xmas plans?
