Haha.. wise words dad! Yea ive set myself a goal of every 4 days il reduce by one tablet! Ive managed to get off all the stronger stuff and im on the weak cocodamols you can buy over the counter, cold turkey isnt the right way to go which is why i keep failing! Ive not had a script for anything, my partner has severe arthritis and im ashamed to say ive been pinching his meds, he now knows and is supporting me! Seein as im on a low dose of codiene i know its more psychological dependancy than physical so counseling is the best way to go about it, even if ive managed to get off them before my appointment i still want to go to stop me getting back on them for some reason! Ive never had much faith in doctors, but il still keep trying with them wen i have my reviews for the venlafaxine im taking for depression, hopefully will come across a more understanding gp

It sounds like you really are on the right track. Don't let crappy GPs grind you down!

That dr was dreadful. Did she give u any practical advice on how to come off pain killers. I imagine what ur doing will give best chance of coming off them and minimize cold turkey effects.
It's brill ur positive. You will win!

You're doing great and weaning slowly gives you the best chance of full recovery. Really do consider seeing another doc. It'd b good to have support and advice.
