hi,I am really convinced I had MS or something dreadful like a brain tumor or something. My symptoms started when I got home from the hospital after giving birth.I had post eclampsia which had my bp skyrocketted to 180/90.After that episode I never seem to get to relax.I went home feeling dizzy, headachey and I just related it all to my blood pressure going out of whack. But my dizzy feeling never left me.I cry everyday for the past 3 months because I always felt dizzy.I have been to a neurologist, cardiologist, ophtamologist and ent all normal saying I have inner ear problems. But still I feel I'm dying.I hope many can relate to what Im feeling right now

Hello and welcome
I can relate to what ur saying as my pni started off with strange physical symptoms - blurred vision, itchy eyes sensitivity to light, fatigue, feeling as if I wasn't really here and a whole host of other physical symptoms. I had lots of blood tests ct scan of sinuses saw eye specialist , ent specialist and neurologist - everyone gave me s clear Bill of health yet I felt so ill.
Eventually as after several months my anxiety was through the roof and I couldn't eat sleep or do anything I took anti depressants which helped hugely. Many of the symptoms went quite quickly .
What explanation does your Dr give? Have you had tests to rule out the physical symptoms? Life must be very tough if u feel pants? Ru getting support ?x

Hi
Antids are generally a longer term option - often its recommended you take them for at least 6 mths after u feel better. It can often take several weeks for them to kick in. Do u mind me asking which ones u were given? Do u know why Dr advised u to stop taking them?
The side effects with the meds are often frightening to read but in reality most ladies don't get too many. I found the side effects went after a few weeks and I tolerayed them well.
Would u go back to ur Dr . It sounds like things have not improved and u need support and a robust plan if action from the drx

Hi
Could u go and see another Dr ? I would have thought Sertraluine hould be taken for for much longer than s month although I'm not an expert by any means. It can take s few good weeks for it to get into ur system.
Also ask about the chest pain. I suspect it's an anxiety symptom but it will put ur mind at rest if u tell Dr x

Sertraline is an ssri and definitely needs to be taken for longer than 4weeks. I myself have taken this medication and it does take a couple of weeks atleast to start working xxx

Hello dizzy mommy Hope you are feeling better. I suffered most of this year with the same symptoms as you. No doctor seemed to think it was pni which made it worse. I was on citalapram months before I started to feel better but even now I sometimes get the off balance and strange vision feeling. Have you found an antidepressant that works for you?

Hello and welcome
I'm so pleased to hear things are better for you. If u read my replies to the thread I suffered with strange and debilitating symptoms with pni. Antids helped me hugely but I would find that they would return - sometimes it would coincide with pmt sometimes tiredness and stress . I think this is common.
What has Dr said? Have u suffered with any of the emotional symptoms of pni ?
