hi i too was watching GMTV like Newwie and saw a story about how Victoria Beckham has regained her pre pregnancy size 6!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! figure in 5 weeks. Is she some sort of alien? My friend had a caeserean and still has flab!!! Is it no wonder that we feel so much strain and pressure after having a baby when we are bombarded by images such as this. It has been almost 7 months since I had my little munchkin and yes I still have a flabby belly, dough like thighs, stretchmarks that are here to stay and saggy boobs. To me these are the mark of a mother!! it shows you have been to hell and back with child birth, a kind of badge of honour. anyway I just think that it is ridiculous how vain she is and prob jealous that she has been able to do this, however she prob has a nanny personal trainer etc etc, also it took weeks for my friend to be up and about to any real extent after having a caeseran. any thoughts ?? lol collette xx on her soapbox soz.

I am sorry but that is rediculous being back into size 6 clothes after only 5 weeks. My babe is 9 months, delivered naturally and i still have my "mummy marks" of flabby tum, hips, bum, boobs - need i go on.
The only thing i can think of is that as you said she has a personal trainer, nanny etc. I know that when i had my babies i just wanted to apend those precious weeks bonding with them not worrying about my figure! I too have 3 children so i dont have the time to go the gym or anything i guess it comes down to money.
Yeah i will stop ranting now
Bye

Hi I know its sickening isnt it?
I had a caesarean but not only did it take me weeks to be able to walk without pain but I have a sagging belly despite not having stretch marks because the baby was over small when she was born so did not stretch me much.
And I was a fit person who up to a week or so before the birth despite staggeringly high blood pressure. was mucking out and looking after 4 horses, every morning and caring for goats chickens dogs etc.
I was small then 5ft and 7 half stone, but I have never since the birth got back to this and in fact now I am 11 stone.
But not only did my operation not leave me with a flat tummy I was actually left with cut tummy muscles that mean my belly hangs over the scar and it looks disgusting!
But I was watching GMTV also and they did say later that many stars pay for a tummy tuck at the same time as a caesarean which would explain the small belly but not why her recovery period was so quick.
I think also you have to remember that they do have the best of care, have a personal trainer to motivate them to get out of bed every day/or off the sofa and exercise and childcare to be able to do this.
And in my opinion for what its worth many 'stars' are particularly good physical specimens anyway, their appearance figures quite highly for the explanation why they are and remain 'stars' I do not think spice would be famous as she is if instead of being a small woman in all ways i.e. short but size 6, if she was a short dumpy woman. So she probably has a genetic advantage anyway ( and I do have some naturally thin friends who kept their figure with no difficulty. One friend has had three and she is as small as before she had any, but she does have stretch marks sagged bust and other changes
But these people are rare - and if you do have this genetic advantage in your appearance, many exploit it by going into music and TV etc. In fact all Posh’s fame is now based on her appearance as she has done vry little musically since the spice girls and probably got into the spice girls or the spice girls became famous because of their looks mostly anyway
But that maybe being so or not what I do want to say is it is unfair to compare yourself with these people. Although we all want to look good if we can their appearance is their job and their income and so money is invested in it as we might invest in a company, or a house to live in or a car.
They also invest time into it which the rest of us do not have while having to look after children and/or work.
I doubt becs and posh ever has a broken night’s sleep and this ages you too.
However it is ahieved, I am pretty certain it is not done without effort and time away from fgetting to know their baby, and it will not help you to feel better about yourself to compare yourself with mothers like posh in a completely different situation from us.
In fact when I switched on their was a magazine editor saying exactly this. She had lost the weight - due to a hectic lifestyle and job - but was aware her body had suffered , she looked older, had stretch marks and knew she would never be the same - but said her baby was worth it.
I think this is part of the problem for you as it was for me- she does not have PNI and sometimes when you have PNI, the baby does not seem worth it. But this is the illness talking not how you really feel. This editor went on to say it was not fair on the rest of us that stars who have babies and look fine do not come clean about how its done as even with genetic advantages they still put a lot of money , effort and medical intervention into it.
I don’t expect they eat much either
So you just concentrate on feeling well. You can always join the gym or swim a liot later. I know you may feel that if you looked better and therefore felt better about yourself – you would be better, but PNI is very insidious and probably this would not help at all. I have known women who got back into shape quickly but still had PNI and they would say things like why am I so down when everything’s so perfect i.e perfect life perfect figure etc and then torture themselves because they have no right to feel down and have PNI.
PNI knows no boundaries, stars get it too, and its just that posh has been lucky so far and has not.
All the best

I think Victoria Beckham is a very poor role model for mothers, not only did she hide away whilst she was pregnant, as if she hjad something to hide, but she arranged her birth to be earlier as to not attract attention, i understand that when you are having a baby you dont want cameras in your face, but the lentghs she went to were ridiculous, and as for not leaving the house until all baby fat is gone, how terible, it doesnt do much for the rest of us does it.
When she is stick thin again, I'm sure she will be telling anyone who will listen that she she is such a good mum, and she is just like every other mum, but when she pulls stunts like this, its hard to stomach isnt it.

I had Jo by emergency caesarian and can say that my saggy tummy hangs over my scar too. In fact, I still don't have any feeling in some parts of my stomach where my nerves where cut. I would rather have all that and a healthy, happy child than to have got my figure back. I still haven't got to my pre pregnancy weight now and Jo is 18 months almost. I do miss the boobs that I got when I was pregnant though. They seemed to disappear not long after Jo was born.

I forgot to mention - my hubby said that he wanted a photo of me "Barefoot and Pregnant", so we have a picture of me looking like a whale in a dress doing the dishes in the kitchen. Jo was born a week later. I was huge and I like the photo - it proves that Jo was in there!

I was 14st & something, (well forget the something could of been nearer 15, hey but who cares) & I never hid away at all, in fact quite the opposite. I'd had such a bad pregnancy & birth with my 1st I was determined I was going to enjoy this one. I was on meds throughout, but I worked until about 37wks. I know I've posted here before but she really gets me annoyed, Mrs Beckham! I bet she's had something done to her. She's definately had about 3 boob jobs, to which she deny's, but a top plastic surgeon examined old photo's of her & they've changed (not naturally!) a number of times over the years! Its just how she preaches about being such a good mother. I think she's more interested in dressing them up in the latest designer gear & herself & posing for the media all the time with them!. I bet she had nannies running around doing everything for her & wonder if she even knows how to make a bottle for feeds, while she was being pampered to look good. Sorry girls, but it really irritates me. If I had the money she had, yeh I'd probably get some cosmetic surgery, but I'd be honest about it! Anyway, I'll shut up now cause I can go on forever, sorry! Love Jane xx

this might sound very odd right and very wierd but i can tell you as i am a very overweight person at present and will most likely be for a long while , right when i had leon i weighed alot less than i did when i got pregnant , i was like a rake when i came home from the hospital , i was like less than ten stone and i was 13 i think when i got pregnant , but then i got pni and i got fat as a pig and still am ,
it was the sickness with me , had it all the way through with it , she didnt have that did she ,mind u i werent ever no size 6 if there is such a thing of course

i agree with all of the above
i had a c section and my belly hangs over my scar to as for excerse well i was told not even to think about it untill 6 weeks after and i would certainly not have tried as the pain !!!!
but im sure that when she had the baby there was talk of her having a tuck but of course she will deny it as she has with her boobs which magically appeared, and when she 1 st lost the weight which she put down to polcycstic overies, which i have and have had a 10cm cycist removed along with 1 overie however i am still over weight and my son is 18 months old.
(but im not jelous honest)
anyway ladies who wants to be a size 6 at least our kids can see us from a distance, and we would beok for a while if there was a food shortage !
am i convincing love rach

I had a c section too. I have no muscle control in my lower stomach area and no feeling either, so excercise is pointless for me anyway, I have no choice, it just hangs there.
I also have Polycystic ovarian syndrome, which causes weight gain and difficulty in getting pregnant, hey I'm one of the few people who have natural birth control, I have to take the pills to get pregnant. Funny init. Took me four years and loads of pills to get my son.
