Not been very well this week. Had some kind of sickness bug Weds into Thurs, and then Thurs lunchtime got one of my silly migranes. Its the first time (2 months) I've had one since I started wearing glasses and stoppe taking the beta blockers so was a bit fed up with that, really don't want to have to take beta blockers forever on top of the anti-d's. When I get a migrane, aswell as the headache, my vision is the first thing to go, black spots and a sort of flashing line, and then I go numb down one side (usually my hand, one side of my face and inside my mouth) it was scarey the first time but now I now what it is its just annoying. This time was quite weel timed cause it all started just before the kids were due to go to nursery so I was able to come home and sleep it off. But snice then I've had pain (more like its sore rather than painful) down my right side. MY neck is stiff and shoulder and neck are sore. Am seeing GP on Thurs anyway so can talk to her about it then. I just feel a bit like I'm going round in circles, had to go back on the anti-d's again cause I wasn't managing without them and now this migrane so maybe I'll be told to start taking the stupid old beta blockers again Have to say that other than that tho the antis are working and I'm doing ok at the moment

Hi mummyj,
Your migranes sound horrible. I am so glad though that you got it that time of day, when the children were not there. The thoughts of it coming on when they would be due home would be awful. Its horrible you have to have them in the first place.
I am glad the antid's are working.
I send you my love, Jay xx

Had to go back on the betablockers had another migrane on Saturday and that one was quite scarey as I was drving and had the kids in the car. My vision started to go and I pulled over, but then thought I should carry on before the numbness started so I did and we all got home safely. I think that the migranes are caused by tiredness but its a bit of a vicious circle, I get one, so have to take a day off work, so spend the rest of the week catching up, so am tired by the end of it etc! The betablockers are the only thing that work at the moment so spose thats whats got to happen. Just feel a bit pumped full of drugs, each evening I have to take the anti-d, the betablocker and my pill. Godd news for today though and I'm sure it'll sound quite silly! My old school that I went to for 10 years from 8 to 18 is closing down at the end of this school year, theres a big reunion in a few weeks and a church service first in the cathedral. I got an email from an old teacher today to say that there is a procession at the beginning of the service and would I want to be in it to be the old pupil to represent the 90s? Told you it sounds silly but it gave me a bit of a buzz and I'm really looking forward to seeing some of the girls from school after nearly 12 years.

Haven't written for a while, not much has happened really. I've been feeling OK since back on the anti'ds, its just when I try and come off them that the problems happen - will have to try and do it even slower next time I try, not sure when that will be though.

Right - am going to start trying to come off the anti-ds again, feel ready to do it. But this time, on gps advice, going to go incredibly slowly. I won't take one tonight, and will do every other day for at least a month and see how I go. So no matter how good I say I'm feeling, DON'T let me cut down any more than that!! DH and I really want to start trying for no 3 in Nov so I've got 5 months to do it if I need to. Keep everything crossed for me

Hi hun,
be kind to yourself, think of it not as failing, you've just delayed it until maybe tomorrow, or the next day! How have things been for you over the past while? love and hugs x.

Thanks Helen Been really up and down the last week or so. I've gone from wanting to come off the anti-d's to feeling scared about the thought of it. I relised just know that I only have one tablet, and am going to mums for the weekend so can't get another prescription and will have to go 3 days without them which worries me. Each time I think that I'm getting better it just doesn't work out. But this weekend is my school reunion which I am looking forward to so maybe I wont notice that the anti'ds have run out

School reunion was actually soooo much fun. Wasn't looking forward to it at all, but both my sisters went - we're not all together very often as we live all over the place. Then I met up with some friends that I hadn't seen for years and we had so much fun - had a real giggle, and all going to meet up again for one of our friends birthdays in August. A really good and happy day

Really been struggling this week, and I don't know why. I'm still taking the same dose of anti-d's as I have for about the last year, and nothing has really happened - its just such a struggle to do anything. I've not really worked all week, and I've been feeling really down, also completely exhausted. Don't know what I can do to feel better again.

Not feeling good, still feeling really down and everything is a struggle. Plus for the last couple of weeks I keep getting numb patches on my hands (which is usually what I get with the migranes, but I'm not having a migrane) and today I'm getting them on my face. Will make a doctors appointment but will probably have to wait about 3 weeks. everything is just such hard work at the moment.

Not coping today. Seen the doctor and they're going to do blood tests to find out about my hands going numb. Have booked the kids into nursery this afternoon, just need a couple og hours on my own. And I'm working this evening and theres no way out of it.
