I sometimes think it's the way our particular society works - there still seems to be some stigma around this illness abd this just makes it even worse!
I watched a Rikki Lake show (well, there was nothing else on!) some time ago and it was about 'Postpartum Depression'. They seemed far more accepting about it - I believe you get cards and stuff over there if you get it?!!

Also hate it when people (even my gp said it to me once) say 'At least the sun's shining now - everything much nicer when the weather's like this' - no it isnt. It just gets me all hot and bothered when I'm out!!!!!!! Marion.

When a woman with 2 children who doesn't suffer PNI says (smugly) ''It's hard with two isn't it'' (b***** off!!)

My pet hate is when I am ranting about something (perfectly legitimately) and my partner gives me that slightly patronising/sympathetic look which seems to say 'Bless, she's making so much of this because she has PNI'. Yes I do but that doesn't negate the fact that something really, truely pissed me off!!! ;-)

I have just teturned to work and encountered all of the following
"are you better now" - NO I BLOODY WELL AM NOT - TOOK ALL MY ENERGY JUST TO GET OUT OF BED "Its probably just hormones" IF YOU DONT GET OUT OF MY WAY ILL MAKE YOU BLOODY MOAN "Its all in your head" MY FIST WILL BE IN YOUR HEAD IN A MINUTE "So you were well enough to go on a break but not come back to work" WELL IF I HAD TO PUT UP WITH NUMPTY'S LIKE YOU ON MY HOLIDAY I WOULD PROBABLY HAVE BEEN OFF A LOT LONGER YOU MUPPET - LIKE TRYING TO RELAX ON HOLIDAY IS JUST THE SAME AS BEING STUCK IN AN OFFICE DOING A VERY STRESSFUL JOB! "Ah well, at least you're back at work now" EH? IS THAT SUPPOSED TO BE A GOOD THING? and the clasic - we'll the kids look like theyre doing well - despite you being "ill""

This thread has confirmed then that noone can win either way and I think I might as well give up with any advice I feel like giving in case I imbuke (?) this kind of reaction. Over and out ladies.. Hi Kerry,
How are you?
Too true isn't it - often a 'no win' situation when sufferers and non-sufferers engage in dialogue!
I think this thread is really funny tho' in places, as I do think our well meaning family and friends often say things that can make us annoyed & prone to **!!**ing - I guess because they don't understand the illness!

Hi Hopeful (I'm ashamed to say I don't even know 'hello' in Welsh) Yeaaahhh! Glorious. We were near Abersoch. We'll go again to Wales. I did want to go overseas next year but we've decided to do our bit for the environment and not fly (who am I trying to kid - I haven't coped with the recycling lately and use disposable nappies!) Love Kerry xxx

I hate people trying to make suggestions of what i can do to make myself feel better: Go out and enjoy yourself, treat yourself etc.
Also "enjoy him while he is little, they grow up so fast" is another one when inside i'm screaming i want himto grow up so this will be over
