Thanks for all ur support Cokey, WG and Shell (you not intruding at all..in fact it's such a help to have others thoughts Shell). Last night i was a bit of a state, getting v anxious and thinking it was my LO funeral i was going to! Had a few cries and generally so shakey and anxious that i didn't know what to do with myself. However, today went as well as it could have gone. I coped..it was horid and i hope i never have to do anything similar again. my sis, as predicted, was lashed up at 10am when we got there and we only stayed for the service. There was a few family members and some random guy she picked up in the pub yesterday, but it was all ok and no kick offs from my sis or my mum. Feel completely drained now and have a persistant headache which has been on and off for over a week. But looking forward to our holiday that starts tomo..was starting to rush round and get things ready to go, but i think i shouldn't bother and instead sit down with some wine and cheese once LO is in bed hugs MD

Hello all,
having a lovely relaxing holiday you'll be glad to hear!
It was a complete stress getting packed and to the house...of course it fell on me to get it organised as OH is useless i just asked him to get his stuff together...i have an ocd/phobia about packing/forgeting things too so u can imagine what it was like.
We ummed and arred about the house plant hypothesising that we could leave it behind ...and it would die, or ask the neighbours to water it ...and it would die, or take it with us ...and it would probably die! So we opted to take it with us for best chance of it's survival.
however....we left it on the roof of the car and drove off! We went back to retrieve it and it had been run over....
We got to the house and once we'd settled in and unpacked abit i felt so much better....then the OH said he'd forgoten his clothes etc!!!!!!!!!!! what!!!!!!!!!!!!!!the one thing i ask him to do!!!!!!!!!!!!! ah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So at 7.30 in the evening he has to go back home and get them (luckily not too far) but still the first evening was a bit of a non-start.
The next day was fab though...we relaxed, had a walk and a nice evening of food and...............wait for it...................sex! Yay! My culinary skills of chicken kiev paid off....well....i think really it was down to the LO having his own room and us having some privacy.
Next day..yesterday was v lovely too..not least cause we were not frustrated anymore..and we enjoyed a lovely long country walk and had friends visit for drinks and nibbles in the evening. Today OH's parents are going to take the LO for the night and we're gonna go out with some friends and let our hair down together...which we haven't done in a while.
Hope everyone else is ok..i've not had a chance to read anyone elses diaries this week and i've gotta go now as the cat we're looking after is missing...he didn't come in last night so i'm gonna have a walk around and find him...bless him he's so old now, but trying not to worry.
take care gals, hugs all round MD

Hi WG....yeah silly men..bless. He was funny last night as the in-laws had the LO we went out for drinks with friends and he was sick! had to laugh...
been a bit of a strange day yesterday....we found the cat...thank the Gods! so relieved...but had bad news that a girl who i used to be friends with and my sisters are still good friends with had died of a heart attack the other day. She had a LO only 3 years old and another on the way. Only 21 so feel wierd. Really sad for her and the LO and strangely very grateful for what i have. Worried bout my sisters also after all that has happened the last few weeks. it sucks.
I am determined to enjoy the rest of the holiday tho', we're having friends over for a BBQ....altho' the weather is not looking the best...midsummer indeed???!!!!
Just wanted to update you all and quickly offload. thanks for listening as always MD

Hi MD
Oh my word you are so funny. Husband forgetting his clothes is hilarious (my husband forgot a coat when we went away last and we decided if it rained we would use bin bags lol) but the plant is hysterical. I hope you laid it to rest and gave it a good send off. can't tell you how many times I have left something on the roof of my car (someone has always ran after me thankfully!).
Glad you are having a good time, much needed eh?

Hi MD
So sorry about your friend hun. What a shock at only 21!! Yes, it does put things into perspective and make us realose how lucky we really are.
How did the BBQ go hun? It rained all day here yesterday so would have been an indoor bbq for us!

thankfully i've never left the LO on the top of the car! The BBQ was really nice thanks WG. Today we're just having a v chilled one as it's been quite a busy holiday. Been feeling a bit teary and worried about the LO, but think that's just natural after the bad news...but i'm keeping it together. Thinking about doing my Phd in psychology; a project i was meant to do some time ago, but got delayed for various reasons. However, my brain is still lost after the baby...do they eat it? Since having PNI i now want to research it. Don't know where to start though! Anyone have any ideas? I'm quite interested in looking into how they disagnose it. I was given a bog standard depression questionnaire and didn't have depression until months after the birth as my symptoms were mania, intrusive thoughts, anxiety etc. Perhaps even trying to get PND reclassified as PNI? How cool would that be! So trying to focus on that and ignore other worries...like starting work, moving house and financial crisis. Not looking forward to going back to the real world on Wednesday when our holiday ends MD

Hi MD
Yes they must eat it,along with our patience and sadly for me, glamour. I can't speak for anyone else but it must have been a new mum who invented hair bobbles and baggy clothes.
Glad you are having a chilled one today.
Souds good your PHD idea. have you got a foundation for it or will you be starting from scratch? I used to work at a University and a good friend of mine did a PHD in Psychology, she did child psychology predominantly though.
Enjoy the next few days.

thanks Cokey and WG... yeah i agree, they def eat a lot....also time! Bless. got my degree in psychology and my masters in Gender, Culture and development - i was going to extend my research from my masters on women's representation in the media and cosmetic surgery, but now feel more strongly about helping women with PNI (funnily enough!). If only i can find where the baby has put my brain Today we're tidying up the house and a friend is coming over for lunch...then going to the park or something family like and my sis is looking after the LO tonight and the OH and me are staying in on our own MD
