Hi Monica! I've felt like the St Johns wort have taken the edge off it ever so slightly. Going to take another packet of them these next couple of weeks and see how I go or if I need anything else. That really is a last resort for me though. The last two days I've hit a bit of a low again. Thoughts wise and emotionally. It's unbelievable how you can go so up and down with this illness! One minute I'm feeling slightly normal and even thinking about the future and possibility of another baby and then the next I think I could never do it again because of all these thoughts. It's horrific! Thanks for your continued support x L x

It's positive you are having good patches and are thinking positively of the future. Honestly the good moments will get longer . Actually having increasing happy/normal patches can make the bad ones harder to bear but these will diminish. Recovery is a roller coaster ride of emotions and very draining so try and think of urself toox

It'll be interesting to see how the St johns wort helps. R they a bit like antids in that it takes a bit of time for them to kick in?

Hi Monica, Unfortunately - yes! I've had OCD since I was a child and always suffered from intrusive thoughts/images of a sexual nature. Whatever I thought would hurt me the most my mind would picture and it distressed me to no end. Having recently had a beautiful baby girl - I have since suffered from the ITs that all the women are discussing. It makes me sick to my stomach but I am slowly getting better - much is thanks to this thread and knowing there are other amazing mothers out there who are suffering from the same ITs. Praying for everyone xxx hi id just like to say hi and chip in regarding this post ( brittany) I hear everything you are saying you are not alone. I have always had an onsessive fear about being attacked and raped mainly because of all the exposure to the topic of rape in the media news and films i cant walk past a van in fear i will be dragged into it and raped i can not walk alone without this fear most of the time if no one else is around even if it is due to being the middle of a work day when no one is around. What youre saying sounds like a dormant fear that lies in your brain constantly? well this is what i feel with myself having a daughter is absolutely terrifying and my own fears of this nature have passed onto her. now the pni has turned it around on me and it is my biggest disgust in the world so the fact that my brain is sick and telling me that i would abuse my child has ruines my life for the past month or longer. after joining this last night and realising it is a common UNSPOKEN sympton of post natal depression and anxiety i feel so relieved that it is def my brain that is anxious and lieing to me because pf the warped fears of rape and abuse i have always held. knowing your brain is lieing to you and probably 1000s of other women proves to us all that we are being overprotective on hyperoverdrive that our brains are distroring the very thing we fear the most today has been better having AWARENESS and REASURANCE i hope i can dismiss these thoughts and continue to get better my daughter is my world and im sure yours is to you as well i have been talking ans sining to my baby girl to focus my mind on positiveness and looking after her. this has helped. take care loZ
