Bloody fuming this morning! Been to baby clinic, different health visitor. Only gained 3 ounce in 10 days even though he is being weaned? HV said doesn't matter becasue he is above average in weight. I'm sick of hearing about average!!!!!!! Then HV told me I needn't bother taking him on a weekly basis when it's 'just' to get him weighed. Sod the interaction with other mums, the reason to get out and the worry because of his lackof feding and reflux then!?! I'm sick to death of so called professionals commenting on things like how opften I have him weighed because it's a busy clinic but then them all disappearing when you need them, they soon shut up then. I have had no support whatsoever and feel absolutely furious this morning. They're supposed to be interested in the whole family, all they're intesrested in is finishing clinic on time. I could rant all day, feel close to tears but they're anger tears. Determined not to let them spoil my day but so angry inside

Thanks for the support cinders, it means a lot x
Didn't let the morning impact on the rest of my day. Went for a little retail therapy but ended up with just stuff for little mn and P - as usual! Next door neighbour took little one out for a walk for an hour which gave me chance to do a bit of cleaning - made me feel better.
Ended up being a good day x

I can't beleive it's after half past 9 and I've only just sat down!
Done some more cooking, loads more vegetables and some fish in a cheese sauce. Even done some mango and nectarine, trouble is I want to see his reaction straight away!
Not really been anywhere today other than the supermarket - yawn, yawn
A good one even if I am totally knackered now x

Hi
Glad you had a good day. It's a nice feeling being tired but happy - feels as if you've acheived something. Long may it continue.
You keep goign to the baby clinic if you want to! With my eldest when he was a babe, any time I'd mention a concern, the hv would laugh. That used to annoy me. At least the ones now seem much better.
Take care

Thanks Hopeful and Monica, it's nice to think people are keeping up with whats going on with me and adding the odd comment x
Last few days have been fine but tiring. Little man has a cold and is really struggling with it - poor little thing, wish I could do something.
We've stayed in today and he's actually slept a while - that really means he's off it. Last night he woke up a few times crying which he never normally does through the night and it scares me to death. Got him up at about half 6 and he cuddled up and slept on me - gorgeous! That sounds awful but he doesn't really go in for all that cuddling business so when I get the chance ........ cuddles galore x
Not got any plans for tomorrow, it will depend on how he is and how tonight goes.
Hope everyone is doing ok x

Hey KL
So sorry to hear about the bloody insensitive HV... She should realise how natural it is for you to be keeping an eye on little man's weight given the bad reflux he's had. As the others have said, don't let it put you off going - especially if it's part of your weekly routine of getting out and seeing other mums. It's horrible when the professionals are so over-stretched that they forget that they're in a job to care for mums and babes, not to get them 'off the caseload'
Hope your weekend has got better, and the little one's cold is clearing up xxx N

Hi Keep on going to the HV. If it puts your mind at rest then it's the right thing to do How are you coping with weaning?

Hi Hopeful, Nay and Sian
Thanks for the words of support and encouragement. Think I'm going to give the clinic a miss for a few weeks, then when I take him back it might give me a bit more confidence that I don't need someone who doesn't even know me to tell me I'm doing good job!
The weaning is going really well, gave him sweet potato and butternut squash yesterday and left out the baby rice and he loved it - couldn't get enough!
Apple isn't going down well, he gips, pulls faces and cries when we have that at teatime - poor little love (keep persisting though!)
Had a good weekend, bad night on Friday cos he has cold and now cough but Sat and Sun have been fine. Yesterday just went to my parents for lunch which was lovely. Dad is away until Friday but then we all go to Centreparks a week today - very excited. Fresh air, walks, time with parents etc etc xxx
Going to the docs this morning cos cold and coughing isn't clearing up and it's actually been around for about a fortnight but worsened over the weekend, need to amke sure it's gone for our jolly hols.

A couple of good days.
Took little man to the doctors to be told it would clear up on it's own - as I predicted. P didn't trust me when I said this so I had to take L to the doctors to get him off my back.
Did some shopping yesterday, got a few christmas presents, feel so much better now I've started it!
Had lunch at friends today and then drove to a new park.
Little man has been gorgeous but he's still full of cold, poor thing. Settled as usual tonight at 7 but he's very restless so don't think the night is going to be too good.
Got a friend coming for lunch tomorrow which in a way I'm dreading. Trouble is I've put her off the last few times. It sounds awful but she has always got a comment or something derogatory to say. When she comes it's as though I can't find a conversation topic or I feel really on edge as though I'm being judged or watched. Hey Hum, not much I can do now!

I gave up on apple with both of mine. They eat it now they're older but hated it as little babies. Have you tried cinnamon and baby rice with it - not as sour!
Lunch sounds like fun - not.
One of my best mates last came to see me when Rhianna was 4 months old. I told her I had PNI and was on meds for it. She has since pretty much cut me out. For ages I wasn't up to ringing people or making arrangement to see anyone. It wouldn't be so bad but I was close to PNI with Caitlin cos of the reflux and lack of sleep. I told her when I was pregnant this time around and she made me promise to tell her if I felt down after Rhianna cos she would help me. Crap eh?
Anyway to get to the point - anyone who makes you feel crap should be dropped!

Another couple of good days.
Friend was over for lunch yesterday which wasn't as bad as anticipated, I think small doses are the order of the day!
In the afternoon I went to another close friends house who I don't seem to have seen for ages which was lovely.
Today done a bit of shopping for jols and litle man has tried mango and is loving it.
Sian - going to give the apple a rest for a bit and then might try the cinnamon or vanilla. Tried with baby rice but still get pursed lips and gipping!
We're still playing little mister independent, refusing to feed unless sat on his own in bouncy chair, car chair or pram - monkey!
Dad came home today so went to visit and also did my good deed going to the mother in laws!
Going to get some supermarket shopping tomorrow to take to centreparks and need to get a cool bag so that I can do some puree's Monday morning and take them to Centre parks and freeze them when we get there.
Think it'll be 'Slimming World - here we come' when I get back, feel really motivated but know there's no point until after hols.
