Hi Ladies Back from our little break, the first half of the week was tough - weather lousy J crabby as anything I had BAD PMT, really bad girls had that horrible feeling that I couldnt go on again, havent had that for a long time. Slept when I could, managed without resorting to diazepam, then the second half of the week J settled down the weather got much better and I felt better too, just shattered today and got all the washing to catch up on!
PMT is nasty and looking back over my last few entries seems to be when it flares up. hope you are all ok Love n hugs Jo xx

Hi Jo
That's exactly when my blips are too. I've found it easier to cope with since I realised that but it doesn't stop them being a bit scary does it? It's like a reminder of how you were and it's hard to accept that it will only last a few days.
Try not to push yourself today lovely x

I take Evening Primrose capsules and Vitamin b complex too. I can't remember who told me about them now. It was one of the moderators.
They seem to take the edge off although they do take a couple of months to kick in properly

Today I am stressed girls, J been off again (those bloody teeth!) I have got this week off work so dont have my usual "escape" I know that sounds really harsh (OH told me that) but at least he gets some escape in the day! There has just been no let up today, and he wont go to sleep in his cot now. Just frustrated girls and a bit bogged down by it all if that makes sense to anyone or do I just sound selfish??

Not at all, you need your 'me' time just like everyone else. Is he constantly crying because of his teeth? it can really drag you down. You'll like this one (as a health care proffessional). When Jason was about 3-4 weeks old he was suffering with severe colic and quite litterallly did nothing but scream all day and all night. I took him back to a GP (not my usual one) for I dunno how many times I'd been there begging them to do something for him. Her answer, and bear in mind she was a mother of 2 pre-schoolers, was 'put him in his cot and go out for a walk to the shops or something, it will give you time to clear your head and by the time you get back he will have stopped, because he's not getting the attention' All I can say is OMG am I glad I'm not one of here kids. I mentioned it to my usual GP he was appauled and said, 'make sure he is safe in his cot, then go out the room, put your fingers in your ears count to 10 then go back' Makes more sence me thinks.
The moral of my little tangent - I'm not sure just thought you would find it interesting but basically yes we are all entitled to time to ourselves, even us long suffering mums.

Thanks Kim It just helps to know you are not the only one who feels like this!! That first GP - what was she smoking? I had J to Drs 2day he is wheezing and now on antibiotics and other stuff to help his little chest, bless him I would sooner have it than him. It aint easy this motherhood lark is it especially when the wee ones are ill xx p.s just in case anybody wonders no we dont smoke I have a history of eczema and hayfever and it looks like J may get the asthma side of it, or this may just clear up when all his teeth are out, so we will see.

ahh the asthma, eczema, hayfever trio. Your not left handed too are you? Sorry had to ask. Jason has all three and is left handed, my stepson has all three and is left handed to. can't say I envy you with this one, but at least you can deal with whats wrong now. Hows your 'me time' going? had any?

Hi Girls My second has the trio you describe and has 7 'A&E souvenir teddies lined up in his bedroom (all identical). Teething seemed to link with symptoms getting worse - but glad to say since he's been on the preventative inhaler, we have not had to go to hospital for the nebuliser Although we did have to go when had a bad allergic reaction to nuts! Apparantly he is also allergic to grass - how handy is that . Sorry Jo for butting into your diaryx

Hi hun,
have you tried the old fashioned Ashton & Parsons powders for J? I've used it with both mine, and absolutely swear by it. They both love it too which makes life easier.
The old PMT huh? In the next life I'm coming back as a man, or a tree!!!!
love and hugs x

Hi
Don't faint I'm reading peoples diary's again and having a look around, haven't done that for a long time.
Those Ashton and Parson powders have just made me smile and remember things. In a distant past life I run a chemist shop did it for 10 yrs. Although on K's birth cert it says I am a dispensing tech. Not done it at all for lots of years. But I remember boxes of these powders. Little old fashoned boxes, and the powders were wrapped in sheets of paper. Did not know they still made them. The chemist could look them up and order them, if they are still around.
There thats helped your day me remembering that!!! I am full of unuseful info. Send your ironing round, I'll have a go, that would be more useful, except my nice steam generator one, drips water all over the clothes and I can't find the receipt!!
Hope your day is better with poorly little one. Jay xx

Hi Jo,
yeah Boots stock them, as do most chemists. They're a herbal remedy, bit fiddely as the powder is wrapped in paper. Whenever my two started gurning, I would get out the box - they would start panting in anticipation. Once they had the powder they would have a big smile on their faces. Be careful if out and about though, I'm sure people thought the little white powder was something else lol!
Jay - they still come in those little boxes!
love and hugs x
