Didn't go too badly, she increased my dosage of Anti D's, she must have thought i mad as cried all the way through the appointment. She is getting hold of the health visitor and also is going to find me another councillor as she feels i still need therapy. She also wants me to go to postnatal Depression groups but I don't know if i am able to go as a little scared of going out and meeting new people. But overall was worthwile going and was not as bad as i thought!

Hi Anita,
I am glad things went well, it sounds as if your doc was on the ball actually. Don't worry about crying, I'm sure she didn't think you were mad hun.
I think that counselling would be a good thing, and the PNI group sounds like a good idea if there's one local, even if you are are a little afraid. I think talking to others in the same situations can often help, and I'm sure you would benefit from it, see how it goes and what she finds out.
Let us know how it goes and how you feel on the higher dose of ADs?

Hope you don't mind me popping in.
Let us know how you get on with the higher dose. I found getting a stronger anti D was the only thing that helped me so fingers crossed for you.
By the way don't worry about crying through the appointment... I did exactly the same when I first when to get help (nearly every time in fact!!) Sometimes I couldn't even talk for the crying!!! I remember once I went when they had a baby clinic on (good timing there!) and there I was surrounded by other mums who all seemed to be doing it right and I sat there and cried the whole time I was waiting in the waiting room... I do understand how you feel but honestly you aren't alone.
You could give the group a go and see what you think. You don't have to go back if you don't like it. Personally I went to counselling once or twice (one to one) and I didn't find it helpful but I know some people do.
Thinking of you x

Hi Anita,
Glad you braved it out and your doctor was supportive. She sounds like a great doctor and the suggestion of a support group might be really helpful, especially as it'll mean you can meet people who live close by in your new area. It took me a while to find the right level of anti-depressants but now I have I've found I've settled down into having a few bad days a week but they don't last forever now and they're nowhere near as bad as they had got.
Hope your LO feels better soon and the new dosage starts to kick in for you. Sending you lots of hugs and hope you have a good weekend, Bobyn xx

Thanks for all your messages, I am going to try and go to the group when she sends me the information, the doctors wasn't as bad as i thought so maybe the group will be alright too. I do feel very isolated at the moment and miss adult conversation, so hopefully i will meet people there and start feeling less isolated. Just wondering on Friday i fainted and fell down the stairs which is unlike me!! (i'm a little sore but alright and lucky wasn't holding the baby at the time!) Could it be the increase in antidepressants?? I have felt dizzy on and off since then but haven't faited again. Today i am having a good day (hope it lasts) and feel that i can cope today which is a first so hopefully things are turning a corner!! x

Hi Anita
I think the group will be a great idea. I was sent once on an anxiety management course and it was so great to be sat in a room with a load of people who were experiencing the same things as me!
The dizziness sucks hun, but it does get better I promise.
Take Care

Hi Anita
It can take a little while to adjust to an increase in the anti-d's. When mine were increased, I was a bit spaced out and sort of detached for a week or so until I got used to them.
I've cried through several appointments at the GP - the first one was I think all crying with about 2 sentences about what I was there for. I had to give her the list I'd written down of how I was feeling!
It's very difficult to deal with a unsettled baby and to be having 2 good days while still dealing with this shows how amazingly you are coping. When are they testing the lo for a milk allergy?

Waiting for the referal to come through from the doctor so she can be seen by a peadiatritian from the hospital. Hopefully they will get to her problem and also see if the eczema is linked to the milk allergy.

Hiya
Hope the referral comes through quickly. It would be nice to get some help.
How are you doing with your anti deps? It can take a while to adjust to a higher dose and you can feel quite disconnected for a while... thats how I felt anyway. I was on 60mg citalopram with the worst of my depression and I did feel quite out of it for a while.
I hope you feel better soon xx

I constantly feel dizzy and my headaches have got worse since the increase although on a good note feeling less anxious than i have been. But don't know if i can get through the dizzyness and headaches as well as looking after a 6 month old. Hopefully they will pass as putting the headaches and dizzyness aside i feel an improvement! cross those fingers! xx

Hi Anita, it took a little while for my anti-d's to settle down once I'd increased them and for a few weeks I felt a bit scared looking after my LO and a preschooler, but over time those feelings of spaciness and dizziness faded and now I feel ok every day. I was taking one in the morning and one in the evening but now I just take 1 and a half in the evening or else I feel too spacey in the day. When do you take yours? Maybe you could talk to your doctor about the timings if things don't settle down in a week or two? Bobs xxx

Hi Bobyn The doctor has told me to take them both together in the morning....do you think I should talk to her about spacing them out ie one in morning one in evening or to take them in the evening?? Anita xxx
