Hi Hopeful. I'm glad I made you laugh. I'll have to thank OH for his analness!
Nicola I totally understand the state of the car comment. I get that too. He just doesn't get the fact that by the time you have lugged all of the shopping/kiddie paraphinalia into the house, then got LO's in the house who are usually screaming or attacking the shopping the car and the state of it is usually out of my head as soon as I have crossed the threshold to the house. In fairness to him he has looked after the kids alone before. I left him sitting on the sofa with the kids playing on the lounge floor. When I got back a few hours later he was sat in the same place looking a bit shell shocked. I asked him how he had got on and he told me that they had been a nightmare and that he hadn't been able to do anything. I very smuggly said that that is what every day is like for me and he was quite sympathetic. He obviously has a very short memory though!!
I managed to get most of the carpet done yesterday. OH came home and we went off into town with LO's in tow. Couldn't find what we were looking for so went off for dinner. Had a lovely meal and LO's were fairly well behaved so all in all we had a good evening. I did bring up the subject of the mess in the study with OH and he just said to ignore him and seemed to be a bit surprised that I had taken it personally. I did try to explain why I had and why it was in a mess. I think it went in but I could see what was going through his head....blah blah blah blah blah!
Anyway...this morning we are getting ready then going food shopping then this afternoon I have an appointment with a pharmacist. I am going on a diet called Lipotrim which a meal replacement diet. It's all quite professional the way it is run and I know a couple of people who have done it and lost their weight so I am giving it a go. I am going into it eyes wide open though. I am a bit worried that if I get hungry and my blood sugar gets low that I will feel down so thatr is something I will have to bring up with them. Also I want to check in general that the diet will be okay with the way that I am feeling. A lot of my depression in the past has been down to my weight and low self esteem amongst other symptoms of PCOS so I am hoping to be able to get down to my goal weight and then eat a healthy diet when I get there. My diet is a lot better than it used to be and I have weighed the same for about 8 years so i am obviously eating enough calories to maintain my weight. I just don't seem to be able to eat less calories to lose the weight. At least if my meal is coming out of a packet there is no arguement. I am going on to the full programme where all of your meals are in a packet. I will give it a go and am in the right mindset to do it but if it proves too difficult you can do a maintenance programme which lets you have one healthy meal a day. I'm gonna go for it and do my best but I'm determined not too lose some weight!

I left my DH with LO and the dog for a day and came home to shit tip of a house, clothes strewn everywhere, LO was wearing some completely diffferent oufit and DH hadn't eaten all day and was starting on a bottle of wine for his dinner! It was quite funny and he was well stressed - but yes they soon forget!
Diet sounds good - friend of mine does that LighterLife which sounds similar but has been in the news lately and it works wonders for her.
Good luck - I couldn't do it, love my food too much!

I did slimming world for a while and lost a stone (need to lose about 3 more but lost the oomph for dieting after a while). It was good as long as you have wilpower not to eat loads of chocolate!

Hi All,
WG - Lipotrim is from a local pharmacy. I had to go and have a consultation for it but all was ok. I am going to live on milkshakes for a while but as long as I am not hungry I don't care. I did have it explained to me and here is a brief explanation. When your body needs energy, you become hungry so you eat and the body takes energy from your food. With this diet you don't eat and just have the milkshakes. You will become more hungry over the days so you have to fill up with water and black tea and coffee. By about day 4 your body goes into ketosis (same principal as the Atkins diet) which means that it won't try to take fuel from food it will start to use your body's stores (your fat) instead. Once the body is in ketosis you shouldn't get hungry anymore so should physically have no problem on the milkshakes and water etc. The consultant told me that if you can get through that first stage then that is the hard bit over with. I'm kind of taking it an hour at a time at the moment. I think a lot of it is mental cos when I think I am hungry I'm not really it is just brain hunger.
Nicola - Lipotrim is the same sort of thing as Lighter Life only half the price. Why has it been in the news lately. Is it for good or bad reasons. Up until a few months ago I was like you. I do love my food and am always trying to do my own diets but it just doesn't work and I end up fooling myself that I am doing well. I thought I would give this one ago as I know people who have done it and having your meal out of a pack means there is no doubt as to how much you can and can't have. I did dinner for OH and LO's this evening and had no problem whatsoever. I think mentally I am at my wits end so have managed to switch off from the pleasure side of food. As ong as I'm not hungry I'm not really bothered what I am eating.
Sianyc - I have done Slimming World too. I did it about 7 years ago and lost a stone. I was going to go back but decided to give this one a try instead. When I did it before we didn't have kids so I only had the food in the house that I needed. Now it's a nightmare cos there are so many goodies about!
My only worry is that I may get really hungry on this but I have been advised that I will at first so by this time next week i shouldn't be feeling like that. If I am I will re-think and maybe do the maintenance part of the programme instead. My other concern is that when I feel down food is my emotional comfort so I need to make sure I have diversions. Might take up a bit of knitting again! It might help me to change my relationship with food which would be good. I'll keep you posted on how I am doing. I feel upbeat at the moment but will probably be climbing the walls in a couple of days!
Anyway after I had been to consultant went round to my SIL's to discuss as she has done it before. Came home about 6 and realised I hadn't picked up my repeat prescription for Citalopram. I have none left and my doctors isn't open on a Saturday. It is bank holiday and there is no way I can go without them til Tues. I've only had 20 mg today (am on 60mg) and am already feeling a bit funny headed (could be hunger). My dad takes them but lives about 3/4 of an hour away. I'm gonna try the out of hours doc. Do you think they will give me a repeat??
I'll be back later if poss. If not I'll be on tomorrow.

Lighter Life was in the news for being an 'extreme' way of losing weight and that people should be careful with it.
My friend has to see someone about it when she does it so am guessing she does it properly....but maybe people aren't doing it responsibly and that is why it was in the media.
Like you say you see a consultant about yours so are obviously doing yours right!

Hi Nicola,
Thx for that. Just wondered what was being said. I have been advised that if I lose too much weight and fll out of the healthy range they won't sell it to me anymore. Also my friend is a lighter life consultant so can use her for knowledge.
Well I got the pills. Called the out of hours doc and said she would do a prescription. Just had to go to the hospital to pick it up which was the other side of town. This was about 8.30. Tried to ring my local Tescos to see when their pharmacy closed. They've only been open a couple of months but their number isn't on their website or BT or Yellow Pages. Rang a few different numbers and was starting to get in a bit of a state cos wanted to get the tablets tonight. Got hold of Tesco in the end and Pharmacy closed at 10. Left here at 9 to get to hospital. Felt in a right state on the way and thought I was gonna have a massive panic attack but managed to hold it together. Got prescription and felt more relaxed.Raced to Tesco and got there at 10 to 10. Phew! Had to leave prescription for 10 mins so browsed the clothes and picked some wellies up for LO for £2.50. Been looking everywhere for some!
Anyway I am now home and feel much better. I am hungry so that probably contributed to my panic. At least I have the pills now so can stop worrying. I don't need that whilst feeling like I could eat a horse!
I'm off now. Think I need my bed.
Nighty Night x

Hi Lara
Glad you got your pills hun. I also find that if I have not eaten it adds to the anxiety - not sure why, but it certainly relates to my size 12 these days!
I find that I will on occasions overeat to avoid feeling like poo and send myself in a panic - bizarre I know.
I hope you have a lovely bank holiday weekend hun - you should at least get some use out of those new wellies for LO looking at the forecast!!
Take Care

Well the diet has now gone out of the window!! I lasted all of 24 hours before I had to admit defeat. I was doing really well. I could stomach the milkshakes and although they weren't particularly filling I was managing. OH took LO to football and I was at home with Jamie. I was really hungry but kept drinking and trying to preoccupy my mind but it was impossible. Whatever i did I just had food on my mind. I started to get an empty head headache, I felt a bit dizzy but had an extreme feeling of tiredness. Unfortunately I had jamie to look after and I did think long and hard as to whether I could or should carry on. I gave in and raided the fruit bowl. It's amazing how appetising fruit is when you haven't eaten for 24 hours I had an apple, banana and 2 satsumas. After about 10 mins. I was feeling back to normal and have decided that starvation isn't for me. It did make me appreciate food though and made realise that I can go without food if I put my mind to it. In other words when I am starving and want to grab the nearest thing I will stick it out until I can find something half decent. I have eaten really well today and drunk loads of water. I do feel better in myself so I guess it does work. I am still determined to lose weight and have decided that more walking with the buggy is necessary. Basically I have to get off my fat arse and eat less Today has been a really good day. Woke up with a banging headache (not good). Took pills got ready and went to a local farm that has a couple of open weekends this time of year. LO's absolutlely loved it. They had all of the baby lambs and some sheep were giving birth. You could hold the lambs and chicks and guinea pigs. Daisy had a pony ride and was so pleased. She couldn't stop smiling and both OH and I were looking on like proud parents cos suddenly our little baby girl looked all grown up. There was also a model railway and it really reminded me of holidays when I was younger. My grandparents used to have a caravan down in Kent and we would go for family holidys down there. We used to go on the model railway there and I was feeling all nostalgic. It was lovely and warm and I decided that I couldn't wait to go on an English holiday this year down by the coast in caravan. I haven't done it for years (OH isn't in to caravans) but I can't wait. I felt really well today and although we were only 10 mins from home we could have been anywhere in the country as it's a place we have never been to before. When we got home we cooked a roast got LO's ready for bed and then I sat ironed for a couple of hours. Not sure what the plan of attack is for tomorrow but I think we are in for nice weather again so hopefully we can get in the garden and plant sunflowers! x ;D

Oooo Lara hun,
Your diet sounds a bit drastic. I remember in the past when I wanted to lose a bit of weight I tried those shakes, and weight-loss tea that gives your IBS in the morning.
I have managed to lose a stone by cutting down portion sizes and drinking skimmed milk in my coffee with no sugar, oh and I cut out all choccies and sweets. I haven't starved myself either, or exercised really. Perhaps you could try something like this.
Glad you had a good time at the farm. I remember family caravan holidays as well. Some of my best hols were in a caravan.
Hugs
xxxx

Had an okay day yesterday. We didn't do much. The diet is going well. I got up yesterday and had my branflakes for breakfast. I realised that there wasn't really much food in the house for me to eat so went to the shop with Jamie and bought loads of fruit, brown pittas. houmous, ryvita's low fat youghurts and all of that. After my 24 hour Lipotrim diet I kind of don't care what I eat now as long as I don't feel hungry.
When I got back we had lunch and then did a few jobs. We sat down to watch tv. Wanted to go in the garden but it was too wet for Jamie. Our garden is quite mossy as we have a few trees so it takes a while for the ground to dry out. We sat in the lounge and I had an overwhelming urge to sleep. As OH was there I made the most of it and me, Jamie and Daisy were all asleep! OH got some peace and quiet from all of us!! Whe we woke up Daisy was a real misog and wouldn't eat any dinner. She started crying then proceeded to throw the entire contents of her stomach up. I cleaned it all up and then she was as right as rain. A bit later I was on the computer and she chucked up again....on me! I cleared all of that up and stuck her in the shower. Got them both to bed was Daisy was unsettled so let her wander round. She then chucked up on the stairs. Cleared that up and let her come in bed with me where she went straight to sleep and fingers crossed I have had nothing from her today. It's strange cos the last couple of days Jamie has had really runny poos that are quite watery. I thought it was teeth but am wondering if they have had a bug.
I woke up this morning feeling sick and like I had a bowling ball in my stomach. Took LO's to toddlers but when I got home I was really lethargic and breathless and had to sit down every five minutes. That has since changed to an achy feeling all over like what you get with flu and I am feeling really down. Had a hot bath to relieve the pain a bit and am just about to have a Lemsip. I think I must have contracted what the LO's had and it has really wiped me out today. Here's hoping that I don't feel like this tomorrow!
x
btw.....I couldn't resist it yesterday and weighed myself. I have lost 4lbs in 4 days so I know I can do it!
